Should I keep going or give up now?

I need an honest opinion.
I think it has been about 3 weeks now since I've started this review site.
Put in a lot of hours on this because I am new.

Pretty much, this is a forum based community review site. Getting pretty steady visits but not that much action.

Reason I am thinking about quitting is because I got banned from adsense. Without it, seems almost hopeless monetizing this. Been using Adbrite, it is pretty terrible IMO (compared to adsense) and getting no where. I've also tried numerous other ad services.

Is this still worth my time or should I fold it now?
I will give a shot with amazon bc someone has just told me about it, but I'm losing hope pretty fast.

My site: everydayreviews.net

THanks
#give

3 weeks? there are people won't put up any advertising at all for the first month until they have developed good search reputation. If you can just get it to the self growing level it might attract store banner advertisements. It would be cool to have a script that automatically generated related Amazon links for each entry.

so adsense isn't the end of the world?
how many unique visitors do i need to have per day for advertisers to be interested?

      • Yea 3 weeks really isn't enough to make a decision. How much traffic have you had to your site, and has it been highly targeted? I.e. people typing in the keywords in Google to get to your site?

Adbrite is horrible, you can lose an awful lot of money using it

    A couple of questions;

Do you specifically want to go with paid advertising?
When you say 3 weeks is that the age of the site or how long you have been doing IM? If that is as long as you have been marketing for then you are expecting waaaay to much from yourself.

It's not so much about the numbers of people that you get to your site, its about the quality of the visitors that you get.

It took me a few YEARS, but it was totally worth it. You have setbacks, but you keep going. I also have over 100 domain names, and many are sites I tried and didn't work. You have to be willing fail. Then you can succeed. But you should always plan on making something on every site, even if it is only a couple of dollars.

Maybe you could somehow integrate affiliate marketing into the site? In other words, somehow put in links to products that get really good reviews from either you or your users?

3 weeks is the blink of an eye. Give it some more time. You can do many things to your site to increase visitors, pay people to post on your forum etc

Don't quit. Like some others have mentioned, 3 weeks is nothing. You have to be prepared to put in a lot more time than that.

Positives: I looked at your site. I can't believe how long it took me personally to learn to build a site, while still thinking I wanted to be and IMer. You've learned some skills and are ahead of many, many people lured by the "make money online without a website" affiliate marketing pitch.

Negatives: In my opinion your site is very unfocused. I don't know why Adsense banned you but it's likely because the ads they'd have displayed would have been totally random and not clicked anyway. You've got reviews for, like, a tire place, a restaurant and an Acer tablet case...these things are not in the least related. Tighten it up. That should be 3 different sites with domains like {yourstate}tireshopreviews.net...{yourcity}dining. com, etc.

Then have adsense re-review and you might be able to use them...or better, you'll sell a bunch of locals...start getting hits and you can sell a top position ad with a coupon for $50 per month, etc.

    Man, don't quit now.

Everydayreviews, I would not give up yet. Three weeks is hardly enough time to generate a cash flow, no matter what the offer or product. You said that you are getting steady visits. The purpose of advertising is to get visits so your present advertising methods are apparently getting some results.

The purpose of a website is to get conversions, i.e. sales. Yours apparently needs work. If your goal is list building, add a feature to collect contact info such as a freebie giveaway or a newsletter subscription. If quick cash is needed, look for a reputable affiliate program, there are some out there (due diligence required). Selling Clickbank or similar products through sidebar ads is another option. You could also try something like Adsense ads to pick up some cash from existing visitor sales. Possibilities abound. Any new business can expect more cash outflow than income at first. At some point, you will reach the break-even point, outflow = income, and if you stick with your plan a little longer, the income will gradually start to grow. You have 21 days invested in your business, if you start over, you are back at day 1.

I took a look at your site for 10 seconds.. and i'm SHOCKED.

WHY are you not promoting EACH review product via amazon marketplace?

What I would do is change the FOCUS of your site. You obviously like reviewing physical products and places.. why don't you start reviewing physical products and places and RECOMMEND they visit the site or purchase the product through your site?

Don't give up- adsense is NOT the way you're going to really start earning money online.. it's great when you have a site with HUGE traffic, but smaller traffic, you should be looking at being an affiliate etc...

    Good luck

You do realize that this post is over a year old, do you not?

And that his site is still up and running with activity in October of this year?

I dare say that he didn't give up.
