Im Looking For An Amazon Affiliate "Mentor" or Someone to Help Guide Me

Thanks for reading this post. I have been doing some research for the past couple of weeks on IM and really am intrigued by it. I actually own a couple brick and mortar businesses and have taken a lot of classes on marketing, but just now studied IM.

I am very intrigued in the Amazon Affiliate program and looking for a mentor or a coach essentially. I have purchased a couple ebooks on the subject but they basically say the same generic stuff without getting into detail and the details are where im having a problem.

Some questions are do you just have 1 amazon affiliate username and pw, or do you need to create a new one for each site?

My overall goal would be to be making approx $2-3k a month with IM. How many sites do you usually try to setup to reach this amount (i know their are many variables)

What are some tools in building your wordpress site do you use? Do you have a preference on theme or plugins?

Im really hoping someone out their would like to a "newb" under their wing. Like i said im not new to business at all, i own a Landscaping company, cleaning business, cell phone store and a video game store. But im gone so many hours away from my family that id like to try IM and maybe financially be able to sell off 1 or 2 of my businesses and still support my family.

Thanks in advance and i hope ill hear from someone soon

Lots of great Amazon pros out there such as jan Roos, Chris Guthrie, Dan Brock, Michael Franklin and others all offer Amazon training via their courses, and each has a slighly different approach, I beleive all offer coaching at various price levels. Do a search on here for them and check them out and go with the one you feel best suits you.

I'm going through Michael Franklins coaching right now and he's doing a really great job in explaining everything and you are forced to take action and actually perform all the tasks before you get your next assignment. You build your affiliate website as you go through the course. It's 1 on 1 coaching and very reasonable price for such a fantastic service.

      Yes Cee

I find thats the best approach, and I do it exactly that way with the Amz Training Academy using our "AA 21 Step Program" You have to complete one step, then and only then move on to the next step.

That way you cannot fail to have your first site up in no time, and also forces you to take action, which lets face it, is what most people have a problem with.

    Answers:

1)One user name and password. You'll set up tracking id's for each individual site (if you're smart)
2)You want $2000/$3000 per month? Try earning that with one site only. It can be done and you'll thank me later for this advice.
3)Theme preference? Which ever converts the best. That means split test to you. The only must have plugin in my opinion is Google XML Sitemaps. Others will chime in here I'm sure.

    Need anything else just ask.

as mentioned in the above statements that there are various mentor whose approach is different but they are all genuine and help you a lot in earning money. Like jan Roos, Chris Guthrie, Dan Brock, Michael Franklin, if you are tight on money than go for Gaz Cooper 's membership site. it is free right now and there you get more of it.

i am a member there and i am greatly benefited by it. it has forum where you can get your answer on the spot. Gaz and his team give answers quickly and the most important point i find that everybody is helping each other to go ahead and make your first site.

Another guide you could look at that I really liked is the "Pathetic Little Money Maker" by Matthew Rhodes. He has a very simple system and it's a good way to learn the basics and get started.

      Hey Justin,

All the people mentioned are great choices to learn your trade from. Another guy who I have learnt a considerable amount from is Matt Carter. He specialises in Amazon among others and teaches a step by step way from start to finish. Basically a rinse and repeat method. He also has a free wordprees theme that looks pretty cool too. Food for thought anyway mate. Good luck in your endeavours.

      cheers,

      Ben

I appreciate all the input. Ill have to look into those. How long did it take some of you to make your first $1000 in a month? Also, do you focus on niches your have a personal interest in or do you just find whatever gets the most traffic?

    Thanks again

Everyone will be different as to how long it takes them to make $1000 a month as there are so many variables to this question. 1 particular product seller offers a guaranteed $1000 in 3 months although I would think with the initial learning curve you can expect a longer period than that, but remember once you have built your business to that point it will produce around that, each and every month on a residual basis.

As for what Niches to focus on it again depends on if you are focusing on sniper sites or more of an authority site. If an Authorty site its always better to focus on something you have an interest in and know something about, this way you can easily write about it join some forums on the subject for exposure and backlinks plus it will be enjoyable if you have a genuine interest in the subject of your site, although its not required.

If its just a quick sniper site then its not so important although building smaller sniper sites on the same subject you have an interest in and linking them with your authority site is also a great strategy.

Don;t look on this as a short term project, it takes time to build a residual monthly income but once you have put the time and effort into building your Amazon business you will enjoy a very nice residual income month after month even if you decide not to continue with it.

The key is to get started

If I were you I would get some coaching -as mentioned above- and I would look at it as a long term process where I would plan my month work load just like any other busines (and stick to whatever schedule you planned!). I would also set up some realistic shot term to long term goals (your coach can help you with that if needed) and perhaps partner up with a buddy to track each other's progress (to keep you in your toes).

No matter how hard you work, creating something ONCE and getting paid forever has to be something worth striving for...
