Podcasting and RSS help wanted

Hey, all

Currently I have a WP website where I post articles on fitness, plus I have articles on some article directories. What I have done in the past is turn these articles into videos using powerpoint slides and me narrating, then post them on youtube and embed them on the text article on my site. That way giving people who don't like reading an audio alternative, and getting youtube backlinks (though that hasn't happened at all for some reason).

However, I now want to put them on itunes as podcasts. If possible with the pp video but if it's audio only that's fine. I've been researching this all week now, but still don't quite understand.

I now have a working rss feed on my site, which it didn't have already for some reason, but how do I podcast? Can I continue to have the youtube hosted video on my site and use that as a podcast, or does it have to be audio only? Itunes wants the rss feed for my podcast but my rss feed is for my written articles on my site. Or is it?

As you can probably tell I'm a bit lost. All I really want is to keep putting the videos on my site with the text article, but also post podcasts with itunes (and any other hosting sites I find).

How do I do this? As step-by-step as possible please!

Thanks in advance.

David.

    Hey David!

I just attended a training on this very thing through Audio Acrobat. They have an easy setup to record your own podcasts and publish them on iTunes and other podcast directories. I haven't gotten so far as doing it myself quite yet, but the trainer walked us through it visually and it sure looks easy enough!

Audio Acrobat is $19.95 a month but they do offer a 30 day free trial. When you get to the member home page, the training sessions are located along the right column. Right now I see you can download the podcast training in MP3 format and video format.

You don't necessarily need to use AA for podcasts, you could use a software like Audacity which is free, but I like that AA helps you create the RSS feed and all the techie stuff that can get overwhelming (at least for me it does).

If nothing else, going through the training will probably help clear up questions you have, even if you decide to do your own podcast a different way.

Thanks for this. Do you get the free training in the free trial of audio acrobat?
