It looks like they just joined to get some biz for his/her backlinks service. Your turn is coming. My name starts with a 'C' & 3 other recipients whose name starts with 'C' got the same message.

Yes, I got 2 same messages from 2 differnet user names. (The same person with two accounts). Its frustrating spending time, reading and deleting this kind of messages.

Where should i send complaint like these instances?

Simple: at the bottom of each PM, there are two buttons -- Forward and Reply.

Click the Forward button and put "admin" in the recipients field. Hit send and you're done!

I got this too and reported it to the helpdesk. Then got another one this morning, different username but same email address. Sent that one to the helpdesk too. Gotta Love It!

I warned him to stop and still he kept on hitting my inbox with junk, so I wrote a small script and every time he spammed me I spammed him back with the push of a button. The email was a letter asking for his services.... A long one.... And then at the bottom I said SORRY, I don't want your services and that I was counter-spamming him.... The only thing was, when I pushed the button it sent 10 emails the first time, then 20, then 40, then 80..... It just kept doubling......
Its interesting. I had similar bitter experiences without responding to my reply.

When I got the last one I wrote two insulting words as a reply.

    It made me feel better!

It's not nice, but for a while I was getting SPAMMED by a guy that would just not stop.....

I warned him to stop and still he kept on hitting my inbox with junk, so I wrote a small script and every time he spammed me I spammed him back with the push of a button. The only thing was, when I pushed the button it sent 10 emails the first time, then 20, then 40, then 80..... It just kept doubling......

Well, lets just say that when he hit more for the 9th time and I hit the button and popped out 2560 emails. He got the message and removed my address!

Like I said, not nice but I was just fed up with this ADULT junk material sent to me.

If we wanted to be bad, we could write a nice email and then have anyone that reads this post send it to him and let him know that he is not welcome to do this type of thing on OUR forum.......

And I do mean OUR forum as this is a place I come to learn from the rest of you and attempt to offer my skills when I can.

Or, we could just ignore him.....

Richard, Is that a script you created?

I think that is the perfect way to deal with some of the spammers!

        Perfectly evil! muhahaha!

        *clears throat*

More and more, am getting spammed into my store email account that are supposedly from my own email accounts (ie, sales@ is spamming sales@ etc).
        Annoying!

Thankfully, I rarely get spammed here at WF .... but the law of averages ... LOL

Hi Barbara Eyre, I had similar experiences like yours. I was getting the spam emails from my email accounts. Then i asked my hosting support and they told me its due to a very common virus infection on the internet. Then they gave me some solution to correct that problem. I hope you can to get some answer if you contact your server support.

        Richard,

You should offer that script as a WSO!. I get spammed in my PM box often, but just delete them.

Do you mean is there any point in posting when someone sends spam to our inboxes? Well, I discussed this earlier with you via PM - I do think so. I can see the logic of not naming names on here and certainly not printing their links on here...but what is wrong with discussing the fact that we're getting spam here, and what to do about it? Vince Runza's reply was very helpful.

Leslie, I did have a reason to return to this thread. It is related to another post regarding members and moderators, and members taking more responsibility for the forum.

I was spammed - again - through PM. I clicked on the user's name, and noticed that a few people had reported this person's spam and noted infractions. I saw that 65 people had viewed this guy's profile, but only two had reported the spam, and 11 had reported infractions.

I did not want to be one of the 65 who just left without reporting it. I did a search on how to report PM spam, found this post, and used Vince's advice on how to report it.

I should have noted that that was my purpose for bumping the thread, but got such a kick out of Richard's method of dealing with spammers, that I did forget to mention thanks to Vince.

So, thanks Vince for posting how to report PM spam.

Well there's a troll turning up here every half hour.
If we discussed every one of them there would be no room to
    post anything else.
They're probably reading this post which is confirming to them
that people actually bother reading them.
It's really best to ignore them completely publically,
Just report, delete and move on.

It's good to see that this was taken care of quickly as I was just about to start the same thread. I'm actually surprised this isn't more of an issue on the WF. Good on the Admin's

Just to add to that, if you click on the members profile,
you can actually add a message to it.
If you use that to show your displeasure with the troll,
it will come in especially handy with the junk posters who just
post crap to get their post count up then post a WSO.
I assume everyone checks a profile before buying a WSO?
