An interesting Facebook PPC Observation ( including 2p CPC! )

Hey guys,

Had my first amazon affiliate sale yesterday from my Facebook page, very happy and excited now!

This is my attempt at any PPC campaign, I think I kinda struck lucky with the niche as it's treating me very well so far.

What I have done is created a Facebook page and then advertised it via facebook ads.

The users are extremely responsive and passionate. They post their own photos many times a day and respond to every status religiously. I post Amazon products by asking whether they're any good and if one should buy them, rather than trying to recommend products.

I am not willing to say what niche it is for obvious reasons, but I am targeting the 50+ age group in the UK for this particular niche. The audience size is around 15k but I'm sure I could expand it further.

I am bidding on a CPM basis, not CPC. I have not tried CPC and have no need to as CPM is working for me. I know people who have succeeded with both in the past so am not willing to comment on which is 'better' as such.

I thought I would split test different bids on identical ads to see what sort of results I would receive. For my best performing ad at 2p CPC I am bidding whatever the minimum suggestion bid is and adding 3p.

When I bid the minimum suggested plus 2p, the CPC rises to 5p.

When I bid the minimum suggested plus 1p, the CPC rises to 8p.

So for me the optimal bid in this campaign is the minimum suggested plus 3p

Just thought I would share this as I know a lot of people are trying to get into Facebook PPC.

Here are some screenshots. In the screenshots with dates listed, the actual ad has been up only for the last 2 days, not the entire date range.. I just set it to that to make sure I did actual capture all bids in case some were stil running and I didn't realize.

For the most part though I have built up a super targeted and passionate fan base of 900 users (and growing) for only around £25 or so.

If you have any questions about Facebook PPC I will try to answer but honestly I am not even 10% of the way to mastering it.
