Any tips for making my first $5 fiverr?

Hello, I want to try and earn something with fiverr but I was unsure on how to go about doing so, I currently have only 1 gig and that is pending, that gig is "Give me a topic and I will research and then write a 700 word article on that topic" Is this a good gig? Cos I enjoy doing that sort of thing.

Will this sell?

Also does anyone have any other tips on a pretty easy good gig or just a gig to get me started.

Another question about fiverr is this, when I go to the Mygigs section and it comes up with requests next to that how can I do these requests? Because I have seen a few I would like to do, do you still get paid for that aswell?

Thanks and Im sure you can help me off my feet.

To answer a requested gig, you can click on the name of the person who requested it and then send them a message. If they want you to do it, you can then create a gig for it.

There will always be a huge demand for articles. Make sure that your articles are well-written and well-researched so you'll always get good feedback. Always include a strong benefit in your title to make it more attractive.

To respond to those who have requests, click their user names and send them messages telling them what you can do for them.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Better to rewrite your GiG Title " I Will Write an SEO Optimized Article of 700 Words On Any Topic You Want", i hope this will attract more people to see your offer. I hope it will help

Actually, I'm told by writers on Fiverr that you want to be more specific than that.

You can put up 20 gigs, so why not do:

      700 Words on Online Marketing
      700 Words on Diet Supplements
      700 Words on Avoiding Foreclosure

      etc.

Watch the stats for each gig and periodically cull the ones that get the fewest views.

I've been meaning to do this myself but just haven't had time.

Definitely use the requests. I've got several jobs through that. I figure everyone probably sends them messages so don't just send them a message saying "look at my gig". I have found that even just showing you know what they are after proves more effective (I got an article spinning job through my writing gig this way)

Secondly, it sounds silly but if you are doing article writing then make sure its top quality. I know its against the terms and conditions but I've one client now who comes back to me because he likes my writing and he pays more than a fiverr

With writing you probably won't make a fortune on fiverr so consider it a starting place and a showcase for your talents. Especially considering you are offering 700 word articles which might seem great when you get your first client but will quickly grow weary writing that much for 3.92$ after fiverr costs and paypal. I offered 400 words and still found it easy enough to get jobs.
        Just don't wear yourself out!

Agreed with this. More detailed inforemation will be helpful to find high-targeted customers, and do remember keep your gig's title short and special.

This is GREAT advice! Just goes to show you that there is really an art to selling (and succeeding) on Fiverr. The closer your gig can resonate with the intended user, while displaying the high amounts of value it can instill, the better your chance of succeeding. Specificity, while ostracizing some (say, you say you can write about "diet supplements", you will inherently ostracize people who want articles about current political issues), you stand a greater chance of selling to people who DO want that specifically.

        • People don't talk about it much, but you can even have multiple Fiverr IDs. They can be linked to the same PayPal account -- we tested this on my blog.

I have two IDs: one for buying and one for selling.

Don't go thinking you can spam Fiverr with the exact same gig over and over, though -- the system checks for that. All the more reason to refine your gigs into specific topics.

The best thing you can do for yourself is:

    1. Start promoting it yourself, don't wait for orders to come in.
    2. Start listing it in other places (on other similar sites)

The novelty type gigs sometimes do well - e.g. take a picture of me with a sign in front of the <insert landmark here> etc. They're easy to do and if you like travelling around your city

That doesn't sound like a good gig for you - why? Because you'll become a busy fool in writing a 700 word article for $4!

I don't quite understand the second part about requests next to my gigs and I've just checked my account and cannot see that?

Find things that you're good at and find a catchy picture, use the right phrases and make sure you can complete the task within half an hour and don't undervalue your time.

    Best of Luck

There are many services that you can offer. For example:
    Article writing
    Link building
    Web 2.0
    Facebook Fans

Article writing is a great service to offer and is in high demand, provided you deliver quality work.

However, as mentioned above, you can diversify by posting on other, related micro job sites... Especially ones that allow you to post your services for more than just $5...

    My tip:

Try to make your gig title catchier. Since there is a demand for articles, the only thing that will make you stand out above the rest (besides delivering quality and having good feedback) is a good, compelling and catchy gig title.

    Best,
    Shane

The absolute best advice I can give for ANY gig is, add a video. Even if it's something like writing a 700 word article. Make a quick video of yourself explaining how you're going to research and write the article. Say that you will keyword optimize it if needed, and that you speak good English (which I'm assuming you do). Think about it, right off the bat after you post your gig, your getting close to 100 views, and with a new gig with no feedback, buyers are going to be hesitant to trust it. But adding a video is going to give your buyer a lot more trust in you and your gigs.

Remember you can do this on ANY gig, not just a gig where you're doing a video testimonial, or something video related.

If you enjoy writing but are short on cash...

    Add a video.
    Do 6 gigs.
    Cash out.
Take the $20ish dollars you have earned and make a post in the Warriors for Hire section of this site advertising your writing services.
    Forget about Fiverr forever.

Fiverr is a stepping stone that you want to hop off of as quickly as possible.

Do a research and find that, for which topics, it has a good demand on fiverr. Write your articles along those topics.

After months of cruising and using various Fiverr services I finally (timidly) put up my first Gig offer--a copy-writing offer. Got an order within two days, and now have eight completed ,all with positive reviews with the same client. What did I learn that might be useful to you? I think YOUR gig is way over-delivering with 700 word article. Even if you cut the range a bit you should get some bites. BUT, the above feedback has some very good and valid advice that I also found to be true: After I caught my breath, I quickly decided it's good to do these to get positive feedback, but if you do too many, you perish from exhaustion. My suggestion: brainstorm a list of potential gigs; try to get some ideas that you can deliver in a few minutes of your time--no more than 15 min to half hour; some less, some more. Also, look around fiverr. If you see something you think you can also do, nab the idea and twist and improve. Keep at it, and of course respond to as many Requests as you can--I haven't had much luck with those, but it doesn't mean you won't. Bon chance! Chet

yeah I have some tips :
    - gives a bonus to your gig (a free ebook, an extra gig, whatever)
will attract more customers. For the same low price will choose to buy from you because you give more than your competition.

    - using the above trick you will have more testimonials.
Positive testimonials are most important to the success of a gig.

    - preferable to have a professional video

    - use capital letters for important words in title ( FREE, MONEY, PROFESSIONAL, AMAZING,
    AWESOME
and so on) or the first letter of the word ( Give me a Topic and I will Research and then Write a 700 Word Article on that Topic)

    - must have a concrete description, without giving boring details
Extra Tip here : When you are looking for a gig you see only the first words of description (first words) Write the first words of description to attract the eye.
For instance : *SATISFACTION GUARANTEED* or *PROFESSIONAL SERVICE* or *100% Satisfied customers* and so on.

These tricks this should help a bit.

    Thanks

Using capital letters is absolutely important.

Unfortunately, I see so many gigs where the vendor doesn't capitalize ANY of the words at all.

Interestingly enough, after reviewing the TOS of so many writing websites, I know that the owners of many sites--internet marketing geniuses themselves--actually require the capitalization of titles in content/articles that are submitted.

I do think one needs to be careful with capitalizing ALL the letters in a given word, or the entire Fiverr gig....it does have the potential to be perceived as being overly 'spammy'--working counterproductive to what it's intended to do.

I used to get no orders for months. Then I read a lot and found out a few tips.
      1. Add a video.
      2. Put an attractive title(take your time to 'design' it). I use a lot of catchy adjectives in my titles and descriptions.
      3. Describe the gig efficiently.
      4. Browse through similar gigs posted by others, and contact the buyers of those gigs telling about your gig.

I now get 2-3 sales daily and on some days, it goes up to 10.

Fiverr can be a good starting point for getting your first buck online but there are loads of other sites that can do just the same. Odesk for example doesn't require you to post a gig and just wait. You will have the choice of applying for the article writing jobs yourself.
