Question About Press Release

Must we use my own name in the contact details
for every press release that I send out?

Or are we allowed to use pseudonym?

Are you going for media coverage, or just blasting out online releases for links? If you are doing online distribution only, and not expecting any coverage, it doesn't really matter.

Even if you are trying to get coverage, you may be able to use a pseudonym. Some people use a "phantom" employee as the contact person in media materials and make it appear that they are the assistant or publicist. You can set up an email address for them at your domain as a contact.

You probably also want to have a phone number for them, though. Depending on how you answer your business line, you could just use your business number. When someone calls asking for Jane Doe, your pseudonym, you can say that she is not in and ask how you can assist them.

Personally, I think making up staff is too complicated. I would just put my own name as the contact. But you certainly can use a made-up name for a made-up staff member if you wish. No law against it, assuming you are not doing it to commit fraud.
