Hi, I am new to the forums and have just paid to be a Warrior Room member - I've learned more in 15 minutes of scanning than I have in a few classes at school.

Anyway, I've come to realize that the power of marketing is in email lists, as this forum has brought that to my attention.

My question is what do people/companies usually use for email lists? A webber, an alternative file on their computer separated by commas?

If someone were to "buy" a mailing list, what format would it come in? Is there a universal format that everyone uses?

Thanks!

    Hi Syekahtik,

Yes you are right. You need to be building an email list of subscribers. What you want to set up is an auto responder to catch names and email addresses.

The top 2 leaders in this market are

    Aweber and Get Response

I personally use Aweber. It is a little more expensive than some other but I have been more than happy with the service I have been provided with.

It was between these 2 when I first started. You will want to also decide what niche/market you are going into so you know what information you are wanting to provide to your new list.

    Hi Syekahtik,

I personally use aweber for my case. Although it will become expensive as your lists get bigger. However, if you have a list on your hand, you are expecting $1 per subscriber in your list. You need to take note that you will require to maintain a good relationship with you list after they have opt-in to your list.

If not, your list will not be responsive and you should expect less income be it promoting someone else' product or even your own product.

The reason why I use aweber is because of its email deliverability rate. Although it will be expensive when your list gets bigger. But if your list is responsive and your email delivery rate is high, then I suppose you know what I am trying to say.

    Hope it helps...

I use Aweber as well, it's simple to use and the dashboard is a breeze. Like leegs said remember to keep your relationship between your list and you good and you will gain more.

Hi, I like the simplicity of Aweber compared to other email services. I've used and still use mailchimp and have used constant contact. But in my mind aweber is a pure auto responder. And it seems like the folks who made it knew that when they created it.

As far as buying lists or renting them I've not had good experiences with those maybe, someone else can weigh in on that. But my thoughts are that building your list on your own is the best route to a responsive list.

    Take care.
