Does anyone actually make money online?

... Make money with IM?
I mean, just look at this forum, thousands of people are browsing it at once, but how many of them actually make decent money?

Like I said in my first thread: I am willing to work hard and invest, but only if I know I can make money. I am not the most creative guy, I cant write my own stuff, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to get at least a 4 figure income per month.

What I am not willing to do is buy thousands of WSOs to just earn 50 dollars extra each month. I mean, Im not rich either, but I'm not willing to put in a lot of work if all I get for it are 50-100 Dollars.
Do you get what I am saying?

Also, what I was wondering about: Is there still room for newbie? With so many people trying out so many methods, is there still enough to earn for everyone?

Yes Mike, people really do make a living with IM. One of the nice things about IM is, you can put in efforts today and enjoy the rewards over and over. If you have websites, your sites are open 24 hours a day. It is true, you can make money while you sleep

And there is room for newbies so long as you are willing to take time to learn the business and put in consistent effort. Though there may be a few exceptions, but it is rarely get rich quick. You have to work at it.

Yes you can make a lot of money online hell, you can get rich if your really good but it takes a lot of work to make the really good money especially if you are a beginner.

I can tell right off the bat you will not make it with this comment What I am not willing to do is buy thousands of WSOs to just earn 50 dollars extra each month. I mean, Im not rich either, but I'm not willing to put in a lot of work if all I get for it are 50-100 Dollars.Do you get what I am saying?

I get what your saying but like anything online, or off, internet marketing is a business and it takes hard work to make that business successful especially in the beginning. Sure you can make a few affiliate sales here and there but to make the really good money like what you are after it will take some hard work on your part.

You can learn internet marketing for free on this forum get a Warroom membership for starters it is a very good one time investment. You have to learn to earn in internet marketing soak up everything like a sponge.

P.S. There is enough money online for everyone. Billions and billions of dollars are made in transactions each and every year. Due your research on it and find out for yourself.

Like LilBlackDress said, there are plenty of people making a living online.

Asking if there is room for newbies is like asking if there is room for a new pizza joint in your town. In my town, there are plenty of pizza joints, and new ones opening all the time. Only a select few really get it though and thrive.

Nobody can give you a guarantee that you are going to succeed, and even if you do succeed, working online is not a get rich quick scheme, nor is it easy work. It is just like any other business out there. It takes long hours to make it work, unless you just happen to catch lightning in a bottle.

The company I worked for went bankrupt about 3 months ago, so I took the leap and started earning money online. Since then I have earned over $1000 per month selling my own product. I have now sold the business for $2000. I also have a website earning $500 per month passively and a new product about to be launched. I had no idea what I was doing 3 months ago, and I feel as if I have only just got started.

I should mention that before this I tried about 3 million half assed ideas that failed terribly.

    To answer your questions:

    1) Yes, lots of people including myself, make a living from internet marketing (this is a very broad term). I focus on marketing my own products and websites, others may focus entirely on affiliate marketing.

    2) A four figure monthly income from IM is a tough task. This will take time, money and a great idea. If you have a great idea, it should be more like fun, rather than hard work.

    3) I've never purchased a WSO as I'd prefer to figure it out myself. There is no reason why everyone else can't do the same.

    4) There will always be room for a newbie. There are hundreds of people trying out methods that don't really work. All you have to do is step up your game.

    The proof:

A lot of people claim they are making money with no proof, so it looks a bit fishy.

I sold mp3venture.com (google it or find it on flippa).
I own soundbuzz.co.uk (6,000 UV per day and climbing).

If I can do it, anyone can do it! Good luck

The main problem new people run into here is that there is so much information and so many different techiques for generating an income online they get pulled 50 different ways and never focus on one method.

What you do is get good at one form of marketing then move on to the other aspects to grow a business.

There's still plenty of room for new people coming in to generate money.

Its not always fast, its not always easy, and you still have to do some work. Also if anyone promises you'll be rich tomorrow if you buy their product, no matter how compelling, keep the facts straight in your mind about exactly what you are buying.

Now that we cleared that up.

    The answer is yes.

Of course there are many people making a living online here. You aren't expected or encouraged to buy thousands of WSOs to learn. The forum is free. You have to do the work to learn by reading and then deciding which way you'd like to make money. Then you learn everything possible about that method and then you implement it.

It's really all up to you and your motivation. There's no EASY button.

Don't get distracted by buying every WSO under the sun. Some of them are very good but the most important thing to do is to find a strategy which works for you and then STICK WITH IT...

There are many ways to make good money at IM. There are also wonderful resources to assist you. Stay consistent and diligent and you'll get there.

I think people like the OP want to at least see a reasonable return in a reasonable amount of time.

I also don't want to spend countless hours studying and researching, buying tools, to only see $50-100 bucks a month.

Might as well get a part-time job and flip burgers.

I think us newbies are interesting in IM as an actual 9-5 replacement. We're not asking for for untold riches, but we should at the very minimum be making minimum wage..

I think you are missing the point it is a business you have to build that business to where you want it to be. If that means not making that much money in the beginning so be it! You can always work a traditional job and slowly build up your online business in your spare time.

Once your online business is generating traffic and making sales consistently and you are where you want to be guess what? You really do not have to work much at all all you have to do is maintain it and it will collect money for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Comparing an internet business to a burger joint is not a good analogy in my opinion. Let us compare the two. With a burger joint let's say Mcdonalds for example you only get paid when you work right? And not very well... With an internet business you can sell to the World and you do not have to be present to make money you can be sleeping and it can make money for you around the clock.

Which sounds better to you? Kind of a no-brainer a dead end job or a residual income stream capable of making you a lot of money. Duuuuh!

P.S. If you just want to make a little extra cash try Fiverr and post some gigs and work on your real business on the side.

This is not the mindset you want to have, when you enter ANY business.
No matter what you do, at some point you're likely to end up broke. For some reason, it's a consistent pattern with a huge number of successful people.

There is no "sure thing" in business. All there is your faith in the Almighty, your tenacity, and willing to do whatever it takes. That's it.

Otherwise, even if somebody loaded a track full of money on your front porch, you'd still not succeed.

Personally, I have made money, and I have had months when I went into negative.

Look at Facebook - they were making a loss for a long time, Twitter etc.

Your problem is that you still think as an employee instead of thinking as an enterpreneur. If you want to succeed in this business (well, any business, actually), you better prepare to spend countless hours studying and researching. If you aren't willing to, then yes, you might as well flip burgers.

      Hey, Mike

Let me throw my $.02 in here. You bet you can make money with internet marketing, and like everyone says, it takes some work.

The hardest part though? It has to be the mental aspect. You're fighting an attitude you've been given by people around you, (I had the same problem). There are no guarantees that any one thing you try will make you a living. The trick is to realize that if this WSO/Infoproduct/book/course doesn't work, something else will.

If you really want to make it, you have to look at it like an adventure story you might have read as a kid (I call it the Tookish side of yourself. If you've read "The Hobbit", you'll get the reference, if you haven't you really should.) It's going to be difficult, but the rewards far outweigh the costs.

One trick that I discovered was to focus on one thing at a time. Learn traffic, learn list building, learn affiliate marketing, learn whatever you want, but learn it piece by piece. Only judge that you've learned something if you've achieved the kind of results you want.

Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck.

I tried making money via the Internet but failed.

I took my skills Offline to small business owners and now I make as much as I want. IMHO it's 1,000 times easier then Online marketing.

Getting clients ranked Locally is a snap. Bringing them new customers is a joke.

If I needed $10,000 in less than 24 hours I can easily do that Offline. Online I'm done, stick a fork in me.

    Hi Mike,

You do not need thousands of WSOs - you just need to find a system that works for you. There are tons of untapped markets and the new guy can get there just as qucik as the old-gray haired IMER who has been doing it for his or her life. (Okay - i was kidding about the old /gray hair part.)

Mike, this statement alone is the reason why people actually make money with IM. You don't HAVE to buy a bunch of products or WSOs to make money but I think some type of investment is necessary to educate yourself on how to do it. Otherwise you are just spinning your wheels. With every method that bombs, you gain new knowledge about what doesn't work and why. This will push you into new areas of marketing until you find that one jewel that set you on your way.

You said you are not the most creative guy? What does that mean? Creativity can be quite intangible and hard to determine. Don't sell your own creativity short. People who think they are not creative enough are the ones that blow money hoping others can be creative for them.

That's what I have been doing for the last 8 years. Marketing my Internet Skills to business owners to market their business.

Can you make money marketing Purely on the Internet? Sure you can. Is it getting much harder to do? Absolutely.

The entire world can now get involved as long as they have access to a computer. I saw a documentary on some tv station and they showed these Cafe like structures with Nigerians blasting out Fake emails by the millions. If they can do it, forget it. Way too much competition.

Of course that would ruin the dream for many. We now have the government cracking down on IMers, Google, PayPal, Amazon, the list goes on.

    Get a job.

If you go get a job, you know exactly how much money you will make.

And on the average, in the professional white-collar world, your boss expects to profit five times what you cost to employ. All the overhead for your office, your work supplies, your benefits, AND your salary.

He gets that profit because he is willing to invest all that money up front, not knowing whether you are worth the investment, and give you the guarantee you want.

If you don't like risk, you don't belong in this business. Or any business, really.

I would say that making money online is very frustrating.
In the beginning you will make couple bucks a month, and most of the people will give up because they couldn't pass by this discouragement.

But if you could get thru this state, then you do can make some real money on the web.

As a result, I recommend people do something that interest them. Do it as a hobby in the beginning. Then, if you work hard enough and with some luck, it might replace your full time job.

    Good Luck.

Quite honestly you have to start somewhere. There's no 'magic button' that will turn you on to 4 figures overnight.

Start small and develop a system that earns you that 50 - 100 Dollars. Then, fuelled by your success, build that system until you are earning 4 figures.

Most of us started that way. Don't think anyone had immediate overnight success. We started earning a few tens of dollars here and there until we found something that worked. From that we built a business.

There's loads of room for newbies who take the effort to do something. IMO too many people sit around buying this course and that WSO and NEVER DO ANYTHING. Then they moan that they can't make any money.

There are more people buying on the internet than there are selling. All you have to do is to find those buyers and start selling to them. In a nutshell that's it. What we can't tell you is how YOU go about it - that's up to you.

Yes, I buy WSOs, but only when I'm sure I will learn something that will help me in my business. There are even free WSOs that will help you (I've just read a great starter by Anik Singal).

Please, do me a favor, go and get started RIGHT NOW.

Definitely. I was apprehensive as you are about a couple of years ago. I only purchased a $10 (if i remember correctly) WSO and followed it to the teeth. I do make money online and now spreading my tentacles.

You will make money too if you are prepared to put in the time and effort. Go the extra mile constantly.

    Best of luck.

of course you can make money online. Just dont thin that you'll make 4 figure incomes overnight.

Most newbies come in this game thinking that they will have instant success. Fact of the matter is, it comes gradually as you work hard. If you commit to it, you'll eventually get there.

Oh Yes you can - The hardest 3 things I found when I started were
    1) choosing one thing and sticking to it - so many distractions! make sure its something that your happy with as a long term business model before you even start!
    2) Realizing that it takes focus and effort - no magic buttons that Ive found!
    3) Mindset issues over being able to make good money online :-)
Once things start happening its like a snowball
    Best of luck

Absolutely Mike. I've made more over the years in IM than my ole corporate job as a senior engineer of a high tech Fortune 1000 company.

You will have to invest to learn what works in Internet marketing. Actually what you may want to do is actually get a mentor who is making good income online so you're up and running quicker.

There are so many ways to make money is IM. Don't just think selling ebooks and infoproducts though IMHO. There is a lot of competition to do that and the immutable laws of branding teaches you consumers in an industry can usually only remember 7 major brands.

So IM may be saturated with major players but there are plenty of other ways to make good income like consulting, coaching, starting a local or mobile ad agency, SEO and Social media promotion, etc. You can market on Craigslist or start your own Local Portal to make money.

I'd suggest if you want to get on the fast track find a good mentor. The money you invest will be worth the time.

You've got to start somewhere, you've got to begin at the beginning.

Depending on what you do, you have to realize that your efforts will build on top of each other. So, if you take consistent action with traffic-getting or money-getting efforts that are proven to work, you may make a few hundred this month, a few hundred more next month, and a few hundred more after that, etc.

Nobody is going to hand you a $5k/month business on a silver platter.

If they do, let me know about it!

I think a lto boils down to do you think you can make money online? If no then walk away because you will fail and just give up anyway.

I do not make earth shattering money and have been at it for 4 years now but I have learned and improved on a regular basis.

Some quick advice would be to pick one system that works and follow it, don't try a bunch of different things. This forum has everything you need to get started.

Ask questions if your stuck, there is a ton of experience hanging around here as well so take advantage.

Make sure you believe you can do it or else you have already failed!

Another important thing is you must have self belief and should have passion for it and not to give it up in any situation.I have engaged myself in make money online in the early 2008 and finally i was able to make real money from 2010.Before that those are lots of hard work, passing many days without sleep and I dont even had $10 to pay my internet bill in some months and some months I had to borrow that money from my friends or by saving money from my college expenses. But the thing is I never gave up.I am making most from adsense and freelancing and soon IM will be in the list for sure.

Internet marketing is a full time job most of the time. Some can do it in a few hours a week, but most work at it pretty hard.

You have always got to fine tune, promote your stuff (back links etc.) and or manage sub contractors.

You can make as much as you want. Just learn the ropes and expand with outsource staff. Or if you get large enough, some even do it with full time staff as I understand it.

You will get out of it what you put into it for the most part in the beginning. After you learn how to do it right that is. But then the sites will continue to earn for maybe years to come. So if you keep adding to your site holdings, your income will continue to grow.

It is a business though. And as such, a risk reward situation. The OP doesn't sound like they are willing to risk. That needs to change in order to proceed and flourish, in my opinion. But then my opinion and about $5 will get you a Starbucks.

What I was wondering. If you look at the WSO section; How can anyone say 'The price is just 17 dollars , but the value is at least 197 $ ?
Seriously , how can one say what the value of their own product is? I bet 90 % of the offers aren't worth a single dollar. I mean, yes I have noticed that the prices of these offers are usually 9, 17, 27 , 197 dollars and so on, but how come ?

People will surely stop doing Internet Marketing if they are getting nothing or only a few.

That said, an individual can surely make money online as long as he/she is ready to have it.
Like what other internet marketers are saying, it takes smart and hard work.

      Mike,

I don't consider myself creative - I am not very tech savvy - I don't understand as much as the veterans of internet marketing do. Sometimes I feel as if they are speaking a foreign language.

      But ya' know what?

I make a full time income online - and a very pleasant one at that! More than I ever did in my real day job.

It takes work, commitment, BELIEF and laser targetted focus on ONE method.

Good luck to you - remember - BELIEF is a huge part of the battle.

Once again, Caliban has said that I wanted to say better than I could possibly
say it. If you're looking for guarantees, this isn't for you.

Having said that, for the life of me, I can't understand why it is that people
don't believe that OTHER people make money online.

So let me ask you a question Mike.

Ever buy anything online? Maybe you don't. Maybe you've never spent a penny
online outside of buying WSOs or other MMO products.

But lots of people buy stuff online.

Let's take me as an example.

Amazon.com - I go there a lot to get DVDs, accessories (just bought a
carrying bag to hold my Magic The Gathering cards) and other things. I
      spend a fortune at Amazon.

Ebay - I buy LOTS of old Magic The Gathering cards from Ebay vendors. Some
of them, I have bought from multiple times. I even recognize their names and
look for them specifically when I buy cards because they ship quickly and
      the cards come on time.

Alternative Health Sites - I had a few health issues that I bought alternative
treatments for that actually work. In fact, one such product I purchase
almost on a monthly basis. It's about $70 per purchase. It really works.

Wonder how many other people buy this same product every month
because it really works? I think it's safe to say that THEY'RE making money
      too.

Internet Marketing Tools and Services - I don't know about you, but I need
an autoresponder to send emails to my list. Aweber gets a nice payment
from me every year. Wonder how many other people also spend money with
Aweber. And yes...my list IS responsive and makes me money.

I have also purchased, online, the following:

      Camtasia
      Photoshop
      Ultra Edit

      All used for my business.

Games - I have purchased tons of video games and have also spent money
on online video games similar to World Of Warcraft.

So I have to ask you Mike, why is it that you don't believe that people make
      money online?

Sorry, but this conception totally baffles me.

Mike welcome to the Warrior Forum. I can honestly say that you've come to the right place and you have a goldmine of information just in front of you waiting for you to consume.

    Now, you have two options:

    1) Start reading threads in many sections and continue reading for days, weeks, months or even years without taking any serious action.

    2) Identify your skills and interests, set your goals and go check related posts that has many views and replies (mostly that's an indication of a quality thread full of great information) and try to grab as much as information in a short time. Then create a reasonable action plan and follow it at all costs to reach your goals.

If you follow the first step, most probably you will be asking the same question years later.

If you follow the second step, you will be answering such questions on the forum sharing your great experience while feeling the warmth of money at your pocket that you've made online, years later.

So, if you have decided to work hard and invest in the necessary things (like tools and services you will need to use), then, it is great for you. But if you want to see some kind of guarantee about how much you will make even before you start, then I can say that this is not for you.

If you want some proof that people really do make money online, just go to the WSO section and there you will see thousands of real internet marketers who made real money online and want to share their knowledge and experience with others.

There is still plenty of opportunity in IM. Just look around. Things change constantly. Be alert for the new trends and then be prepared to capitalize on it. And there are still tried and true methods to make money. It all comes down to offering something which people need and want (and are willing to pay for). This can be services, affiliate products, information, etc.

Keep in mind that just like any other business, it does take effort and can take some time to get good results. But find a method and strategy you like and then work with it. You'll find that it will pay off in the long run. Good luck!

Exactly. Yes people make money, but newbies tend to spend a couple years on the neverending search for that one magic pill that will give them riches beyond their wildest dreams for no work involved. It doesn't exist, but it takes a while to get the through most people's thick skulls.

Screenshots of earnings are not an accurate judgement of how well a program works or if that person knows what they're doing. They can be faked and manipulated to suit the advertisers needs. Do you REALLY think all those screenshots are real? They're not.

You have to sift through a lot of chaff to get the wheat on make money online forums. There's a lot of people that know exactly what to say to get you to pull out your credit card, they prey on your hot buttons.

The key is to diversify yourself, but take it one step at a time. Don't try to do 5 new methods at once, that's too much and you'll be so confused that you won't take any action. Pick one thing, give it a real try and if it works keep it going and add another income stream.

Just start talking to some of the people on the forum and you will realize that there is a large group making a comfortable income. As far as newbies being able to get in, I would say yes they can. The business is always evolving for one thing and everytime something changes or something new is added everyone is back to the same square.

Also keep this in mind, everyone may be trying everything, but how many of them give up after not getting $97863 after the first day? There isn't as much competition as you think.

But if you want to know if people are actually making money...yeah, they are. It's really not hard to do. Once you understand the game/system, you can apply it to damn near anywhere on the internet and make money. Just like any other business, you should do your due diligence before implementing any method. Learn the basics to not only IM, but to business in general, and you should be fine.
    Excellent post.

I think a lot of the experienced Warriors probably forget what it's like when you start out.

It's easy for someone to become disenchanted with the multitude of over hyped sales letters promising $20,000 overnight you're met with when trying to find a product or WSO to follow.

For me it just started setting off alarm bells that the whole IM world was one big scam where the only way to make money was selling BS to beginners who didn't know any better. And as Gordon has pointed out above, that's how a lot of the people on here do make their money.

After posting on here for a while though, you'll learn that there are quite a few people making large amounts of money, people that don't have their signature stuffed with links. People that make huge amounts of money outside of the IM niche.

While I'd heard of others making good money I didn't actually realize that I could make a living online until I saw my first sale. Since then it's just been an excited rush to scale my business up so I can quit my day job.

I have a steady stream of money coming in every month now and I'm about to launch my 6th site in a niche I think has huge potential. I'm a little way off making what I'd call a comfortable living but I am getting there.

In short... Yes, you can definitely make money online.

You wont get very far with that attitude towards it. It takes time and hard work.

Ive been learning for 2 months, building my first site for 6 weeks, and it is steadily climbing the rankings.

How much have I made since i started? $0.50.

Frustrated or regret anything? Nope, ive learnt a lot, and still learning and just looking forward to the day my site hits page one, then I can really begin testing what works and what doesnt.

I would love to get to a point where the site is bringing me $50-100 a month, why? Because it shows SOMETHING is working, and you can only improve on what you have already achieved.

Whos to say I cant put the work in and turn that into a higher income a month?

I know someone who first started IM 7 years ago, had little success for the first 2 or 3 years but kept at it, and then started to build up little successes bit by bit, then improving on them successes, and just building and building of which now all bring in a good and comfortable income for them.
