More Changes Coming To Internet Marketing

It's been said one way to increase your odds of success is to anticipate changes in advance. (From the book Five Rituals of Wealth)

What changes do you see coming , concerning Internet Marketing?

For example: Obviously I believe due to increased competition get niche plans will continue to replace the so-called get "rich plans".

What say you?

The "get rich plans" have never been anywhere near as lucrative as the "get niche plans".

I agree, but now it seems the "push the shiny-button and get rich" plans are still popular nevertheless. Although as you say not as lucrative in the long run.

If your frame of reference is stuck in the loop of internet marketing, then it indeed may seem this is the most popular niche.

But the catchy internet marketers' term "shiny objects or "shiny buttons" have very different connotions oujtside of this niche. Essentially, new marketing techniques have never significantly changed basic marketing principles. Internet marketing is only a very narrow media within the much wider sphere of marketing itself.

For example, a search on Google for "internet marketing" yields 351M results.

A similar search for "car marketing" yields 629M results.

Another search for "yacht marketing" yields 23M results.

Yet another search for "aircraft marketing" yields 61M results.

Telling prospects to "push the shiny button" in each of these niches will result in wide variances of income; the least of which is "internet marketing".

The "get rich" niche has always been the stepchild of internet marketing. To say this has ever been the most popular niche is limiting and myopic, when the real money has always been made outside of this relatively small arena. Changes are seen more in the merging and integration of online and offline marketing strategies.

Google will continue, more and more all the time, to reward quality and relevance, and to remove benefits from "quantity alone" - in all contexts. Not exactly a "change" - just the natural and logical continuation of a welcome trend.

It'll become increasingly advantageous for marketers to do one of both of two things:-

    (i) Think and plan in terms of quality and relevance, and/or ...

(ii) Concentrate on business models which are non-Google-dependent.

The biggest "losers" will be people with quantitative approaches whose businesses also depend on Google for their survival and growth.

    Just my perspective.
