I have registered domains that are expiring with Godaddy next month , I think they are set to auto-renew...

can I move them over to Hostgator ?

(name registration on Godaddy only, i have seperate hosting...)

Yes, just change the nameservers for the domains to your new nameservers at HostGator. I think HG will even move up to 50 of your sites from your old provider to your new HG account if you give them your passwords. They did for me but it was a couple of years ago.

I bit on it. 40% off there is too good a deal to pass up (I'd been host shopping anyway). Really impressed right from scratch with it (which is only a first impression as I'm totally new to them).

My only complaint would be over their naming scheme: "hatchling?" "Bayby?" Pretty trivial detail to complain about though.

I went with "Baby" for the unlimited domains.

I already have an account with them too. I think you're understanding of how it works with people with existing accounts is correct based on the info they provided, in order to keep the discounted rate moving forward you have to keep the accounts.

You dont need a code to get the 50% off on the black friday deal, it is applied for you. But note it is only on first invoice so if you sign up for monthly package it will only apply first month for discount.

  It's actually 50% for today only and it is good on any plan that you buy - if you go month-to-month, then it is on the first month only, if you buy a year or longer it applies to the entire contract.

At one time if you were a previous HG customer you could not take advantages of the black friday deals.

Seems a bit different this year. You can't use the deal on a current account (that would be a dumb business move) - but I just added another reseller HG account with no problem.

I paid for a year which saved me 50% on an additional account I would have needed soon anyway.

  Obviously there is no business sense in simply giving 1/2 price to people already using your service - that would be nuts.
  
  If you have had an account for a while it's likely you'll keep it paying exactly what you've been paying. If you open an additional reseller or hosting account it's still "new business" for HG.

I've a Baby Account, could I open a Reseller Account and trasnfer my domains there, and thus close my Baby Account?

If not, and say I do choose a Resellet Account, would I need to make a new account completely, ie, new username, email etc?
