Import an affiliate merchant feed to create a website

Hi Warriors,

I have been asked to set up a website for a client so that they can manage their affiliate links more effectively and have a 'shop' that advertises selected products that the affiliate programs they have signed up for offer.

They want to be selective and only advertise products that they are using and that they really recommend.

One of their criteria is that the site be easy to keep up to date so I was thinking of having it import the data feeds available from the various merchants they use.

Does anyone have any suggestions for existing plugins that support this (I am able to write my own but don't want to reinvent the wheel)

Is this the right approach - I have not set up exactly this sort of site before where the client does not sell their own product (so a shopping cart is not appropriate).

Many thanks for your suggestions,

Brian

Yes, there are plenty, just seach on Google/Bing for sample web templates. There are loads of ones you can get for free as well as for a nominal fee...

    just check them out.

Thanks for the hint of searching - I have had a good look in the searches but many of them seemed to be from the merchant perspective or for hand crafting your own page of links.

Perhaps I have misunderstood but I only came across two options for importing a data feed from a merchant. Both of these looked a bit clunky and the articles were from quite a while ago.
Is anyone doing something like this who can offer me some pointers as to specific plugins or importers? (I'm also doing my own testing of what I find myself but if someone wants to share their experience it would be great).

      Cheers,

      Brian

      Thanks Larry,
I will have a look at rss poster although it looks like it may be a bit more general than the specific merchant data feed. Some of them might do it via RSS in which case this might be a really useful one to have up my sleeve.

      Thanks GuruGazette and auradev,

The tip to search for ADPS2 and Datafeedr was exactly what I needed. Sometimes the problem is that you don't know the name of the thing to search for and this has really helped.

I'm looking at Datafeedr now and it looks like exactly the sort of thing that my client is after. I think the price is pretty reasonable and it will also help them to make sure that they are serious about what they are doing. I like that the founders admit that there is still quite a bit of work that you have to put in - you can make good income from these but in my mind you also have to work on having a quality site too.

Many thanks for your input - it is much appreciated.
