How Can I Take This Affiliate Marketing Seriously!?

Okay so today I woke up and found that a few of my website links aren't getting as much impressions as they should be. So I go through a few of my links and find to my horror that some of the shoes I've been heavily promoting have been taken off their website. How Am I supposed to make money when they take the products off their website!?
The fact is I've done all my research, wrote a great review, got all the images, built a load of links only to find that they've taken the product off. I mean this product gets over 2,400 searches a month. This is a case of about 5 shoes at one time. Add that up with time and effort and i'm furious!

Thats bound to happen in the internet marketing world. Although some more often than not depending on the product and service. Its part of the game of affiliate marketing as products change, laws change, availability changes, etc.

Are you sure that the product isn't temporarily down?

I've contacted the company about it but they still haven't got back to me.
Also this is not with Amazon but with a large shoe retailer. Don't particularly want to name and shame.

If there are people still searching for this term, chances are they don't know that its not available anymore.

Simply adjust your review and let visitors know that the reviewed product is no longer available + offer them the best alternative.

After that, I would just forget about it and start working on another project.

I'm starting to understand their problem.

Cases of 5 shoes typically sell only to groups of 3 people of whom one is missing a limb. It's not the most enormous customer demographic.

More seriously ... yes, this can be really irritating. But one of the advantages of being an affiliate (as opposed to being a vendor) is that one can build up a real, asset-based business which isn't tied to the continued success and availability of specific, individual products. To some extent. You may find that you can use that work - maybe without huge re-writing - by "replacing the product" with one(s) from another manufacturer/retailer. Hoping so anyway, and wishing you good luck. I do understand the annoyance factor, though.

If the heels are collapsible, again, there's going to be a pretty limited market.

Ahh, yes, this is one of the more irritating things about affiliate marketing. Sometimes products go away, sometimes vendors go out of business. Hopefully for you, the havent discontinued the products or you can easily rework them as Alexa suggests.

I don't know, I think collapsible heels could be cool - imagine if you could have high spiked heels for party time, but collapse them down to smaller heels if you had a business meeting. Maybe they could even turn into flats for when your feet hurt. I think you might be on to something here....

Hello, is this an Amazon product? You might want to offer a similar product in its place. This happens occasionally, especially in very narrow niches.
