Facebook Search Engine, Sooner Than Later?

With Google being the site all internet marketers aim their SEO to the most, does the impending Facebook search engine mean we will soon be changing our ways?

    I've heard about Facebook doing some sort of search engine (they actually have one I believe). They aggregate on their marketplace various other websites that sell product, but I'm not sure about the whole inhouse facebook search engine idea. That would be very cool as it would open up many opportunities.

    probably not anytime soon. as the saying goes, a jack of all trades is a king of none. the chances of facebook search becoming as popular as google's is slim. same goes for google+... the chances of it replacing facebook is very slim.

    but hey, never say never right?!

    I wonder if MySpace was saying the same thing about Facebook when it first came out

      If they do it will probably be around BING.

      I think FB's days are numbered (although it may take a few years for the ship to sink)

    Facebook could definitely create a good search engine, but I wonder if it would be as popular as Google's since so many people are leaving facebook lately especially in the United states.

    @Steve - Well said!

    I personally don't see the fall of facebook anytime soon, people just add other platforms to their repertoire. And that damn Zuckerberg is so young, he has many many years of brilliance left to pour out of that brain of his.

      Thank you for all the replies! It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I agree that it will be around Bing @Jeskola, because their owner is a Facebook investor.

      @AYoungMillionaire MySpace is about to get a makeover from Justin Timberlake and others. It will be interesting to see thier take on social media. I have a feeling it will turn into a site to listen to music like Launch.

        How many people log into Facebook first thing after sitting down in front of their computers?

        And, what if those people didn't have to leave Facebook to search for something on the web?

        It's like the late 90s all over again. Web portals are going to be all the rage again.
