So I have developed a plan of action

Thanks to some excellent advice I received here over the last week or so I have put together a master plan.

A few weeks ago I put some irons in the fire and a project that looks exciting has presented itself.

It is a blog in a large hobby niche that has some weak and targetable keywords. For example I have put the same 20 articles through about 5 directories and already the site ranks top 6 for 2 solid keywords.

Despite just starting the site is generating well over 1k visitors a month and about $20 a month in adsense.

So my plan is simple
I intend to feed the blog about 2 or 3 self-written high quality posts per week, while engaging the niche on twitter.

My overseas employee will feed 5 or so auxiliary blogs that are relevant to the main site with 3 unique posts a week per blog. Each of the 5 blogs will point back to the main site in a variety of ways. My hope is over time the blogs will grow some gravity of their own and pass quality link juice.

Once all these posts have been indexed I will run them through 5 or so of my favorite article directories.

The entire site will be built around adsense and affiliate programs around Christmas time. I would do affiliate 100% of the time but I understand that Google hates affiliate links.

Weaknesses I can see:
Site is based on a 'persona' which is of a different gender and ethnicity so it would seem video is out.

As of right now I have found no relevant do-follow blogs.

I would like a full time affiliate income but don't know how to deal with the affiliate link issue

Any constructive criticism is welcome. Thought about how I allocate my resources , link building strategy or how best to monetize are all VERY welcome.

As Always thank you in advance.

  • Congrats for coming up with an action plan. I can tell you right now that if you keep doing something every single day and refuse to quit, you eventually have to make money online. Just stick with it, and do something positive each and every day that helps your online business. The ones that fail in this industry are the ones that quit too soon.

    All the best.

That is a great plan of action. But remember, the plan will only work if you execute! All the best..

does anyone think i should spend the time to build link wheels around my auxiliary blogs? to give them a little juice?

From my experience, the Google not liking affiliate links thing is not exactly the case. I haven't been affected negatively because of those.

As for your link wheels question, I think that's really up to you. People's opinions are going to vary, but I think you just have to see what your goals are. If you believe putting in the work will yield desirable results for your traffic, why not?

BTW I think it's awesome that you have put a decent plan together. You are already so much further ahead than other people. Keep at it. You're going to do great!

You have an action plan, thats great! Now GO EXECUTE IT!. As far as the google thing goes I haven't heard any information stating that they do not like posts with affiliate links. Its still a good idea not to go 100% with it though. People will keep coming back if they see that every single article isn't a soft sales pitch.
