How Many PR Services To Use...

If you are sending out a press release, which of the following is the best strategy:

  1. do you send it using just one free service...
  2. do you send it out through several free services...
  3. do you use a paid service combined with free services...
Just curious because I am thinking up some creative ways of doing this myself...

I'm looking forward to hearing from you...

I use the $20 option at webwire. Works awesome and is super easy. I don't use the free services. I find that webwire does the trick just fine.

Hit up PRWeb, OnlinePRNews or WebWire and see what they can do for you. I'm sure doing a Press Release for free can be a viable option, but avoiding that learning curve (which can lead to costly mistakes) alone makes the premium services all the more attractive.

I swear by PRWeb. They are pricey, but damn we get some serious results with them. OnlinePRNews is pretty affordable and so is WebWire.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

I haven't tried the paid services, but I probably should. I get lots of hits with the free ones but almost no traffic to my site.

If you do want to try a free one, PRLog is good.

If you have something really interesting and newsworthy to report, then might be worth going for a paid service like PRWeb. And then it could get picked up my many news websites and outlets for amazing exposure if there is a creative spin to the release.

I also like the look of the $75 package on OnlinePrNews.com (although haven't used it myself).

You get something like 40 guaranteed syndications to popular websites with anchor text links allowed in the body of the release.

So then you at least guarantee a number of syndications and backlinks if nothing else.

But if you go for a paid service I would not also submit the same press release to multiple free sites at the same time as that may reduce the chances of the initial paid release getting picked up for syndications itself if there are many versions of the same release floating about the place.
