on Doe, when contacting ezine publishers to promote a Squeeze page to that ezine owners list {when searching through DOE}.

What tone/style of email do you use, when you contact them

"Hiya, i want to promote my squeeze page to your list of ezine subscribers........

{paying the ezine owner their emailing fee of course}

Just asking about the tone of emailing.

    The instructions for submitting ads, ad rates, and payment arrangements are in the directory for each ezine. You submit your ad (ie sponsor ad, classified, solo ad, etc), along with a brief intro. Publishers do not write ads.

      myob, I Dont mean the email going out to the subscribers, but the email that we Send the Ezine Owner/publisher

      For instance

      "hello, i was thinking of promoting my solo ad to your list etc"

      ^ That one.
      What should that email style be? anything special?

        Start by changing your phrasing. You do not want to promote your squeeze page to their list. You want to place an ad in their ezine. "Buy an ad" is even better.

        For many ezine owners, that list is their biggest business asset. Your way basically says "I want to take your list, or as much as I can." My way says "I want to put money in your pocket."

        If they have specific steps for placing an ad, follow them. If not, something like:

        "Hi, I saw your ezine listing in the DoE and your ezine looks like it might be a good match for my product. I'd like to place an ad. Can you tell me how I can do that and when the next available slot comes up? Thanks..."

        Just keep it friendly and professional, and you'll be fine.

            @entry,

            I had assumed you are using the DOE already. You don't even need to contact the publishers directly by email in most cases. All the information for ad rates, ad submission, etc is contained in ezine publisher information. Most of the time it's just a matter of filling out a form, making the payment (Paypal), and submitting your ad. The process does vary by publisher, and the preferred method is always specified. It's not complicated.

                Either click on the ezine publishers' home page (usually that's where the ad order form is), or try the "subscribe" url. You can also shoot the publisher an email as described by JohnMcCabe, but it's generally not necessary and could just delay your order. I also use the DOE almost every day to submit articles, as publishers indicate whether or not they accept articles. Article submission directions and procedures are also specified.

                  For submitting solo ads, do these have to be ads/links to squeeze pages?

                  for the opt in address,

                  or can be an add to a paid product? {our clickbank one for example}

                  so our solo ad would be sent to their list, promotes our clickbank product?

                    As long as you don't violate the publisher's content standards, you can send your paid ad's link anywhere you want.

            I bought a lifetime membership several years ago. I tend to contact owners in spurts, depending on which project I'm working on. I'm always looking to increase my own private syndication network, and DoE is one of the tools I use to do that...
