Creating A Sales Page?

I am in the process of making my own virtual product and it is almost finished.

I know that having a clean 5 star sales page is pretty essential to having a good conversion rate.

I am curious as to how people make they're sales pages? I only have experience with Wordpress websites and I don't think Wordpress would fit into a sales page.

Or am I wrong?

How would I go about creating my sales page to make it visually appealing?

Do I need to use Adobe Dreamweaver or something of that sort?

You can easily use Wordpress to make a sales page. You just create the page full width template with no sidebar. That option is chosen inside the page you create. Then in settings under Reading, make that page static, which means it will always stay at the top.

Or you can create the traditional sales page and from what most people say, plain is usually better conversions than a lot of fluff or graphics in the header. This search may help you find a sales page template to use.

OptimizePress is perfect for this. Works on Wordpress and is very easy to use.

Keep the sales page clean and simple and maybe even, dare I say, not pretty. For a variety of reasons, ugly may convert better.
WordPress is very easy and can certainly be adapted for sales pages. There are plenty of free WP templates around. But if you want to go the HTML route then you could use a free program like Kompozer if you don't want to drop some coin on Dreamweaver.
