Not sure if I'm doing this right....

I have 4 long-tail keyword EMDs that I am populating with fresh 800+ word posts about 1 every 7 days. All of these sites are targeted toward the Christmas season and contain product reviews.

Since each review is for a different product, would it be wise for me to develop a blogger blog with exact match product name and publish a portion of the review on the blog with a link to the main site?

I'm just trying to figure out how to boost the site in ranking since I'm targeting so many different keywords.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the input!

You need to build links to each page on the site, not just the home page. One way to do that is by building other properties that link back to the site.

Having an EMD doesn't matter if you don't optimize the page properly, and get links (either naturally or otherwise).

You can also get links by publishing articles, blog commenting, issuing press releases, and a bunch of other ways.

There's tons of info on this forum about SEO. Just do some searching.

That's one way of building backlink (make sure you provide value there also, creating blogs just to build backlinks can hurt you sometime) & if you have done everything else right (as you mentioned) then it should be just matter of time when your sites will start ranking well. Just continue with your off site SEO efforts as well.

    Wish you great success.

    Cheers

What about blog commenting? I've been searching around the WF this morning and see lots of people talk about blog commenting. There seems to be mixed reviews on this. What are your thoughts? Also, what's the best (and cheapest I guess) place to outsource blog commenting?

Blog commenting works fine, but like all types of link building it's only part of a bigger plan. You need link diversity.

I've outsourced blog commenting on odesk before. Mixed results.

Do some research on scrapebox, not for the auto commenting feature, but for learning how to find high PR pages to comment on. Will make your life much easier.

Depending on how competitive your keywords are you will likely want links from all sorts of places. Social bookmark sites, articles, high PR pages, press releases, and a bunch of others.

You should definitely do the blogger thing. You can also look into setting up another free blog on wordpress.com to do the same. I usually do this with both.

On-page optimization is very important. Your title tag, meta description, meta keyword, must have your primary keyword. On-page linking is very important your hyperlink text on your pages and the internal site pages you are linking them to, must also follow a keyword theme or LSI Model with 1.00 % or less primary keyword density on the whole webpage.
