What Stats Should I Divulge to a Company With a Product I Could Promote?

I'm starting to encounter a "new breed" of person .... the Corporate suit-wearer probably

And they're asking me questions that I don't know how to reply to.

Yesterday I was surfing the net and I spotted something that I think is a great fit with my current stuff. So I sent them an email really indicating: "Hey - I've got a slot, let me put your stuff on my site".

And they've responded and asked "

"How many visitors do you get and can you send us your visitor profile?"

What do I tell them? What's expected, what's "enough"?

Could I just say: 400,000 visitors between 1st ... and 30th.... and shove in an analytics map of the world to show where from? Or do they want time on site, the pretty chart that shows the source of traffic, the bounce rate?

Don't want to look like a complete n00b... also don't want to divulge what sites I have at this stage either.

So - what is enough/acceptable/the norm?

    Tell them how many unique visitors you get for the sites you plan to slot the promo into.

    As for a visitor profile, they want to make sure that your traffic does indeed fit their product. If you have a demographic profile (male/female, age range, income level, country, education, etc.), send them that.

    They're trying to weed out would-be affiliates that either sign up and do nothing or do things that could land them in hot water.

    After I wrote the original post, I did remember I've got some quantcast code on one site, that would give me that breakdown. Chucked it on, never looked at it since

    I guess I just feel 'judged' by people - and am a natural pessimist, so assume they'll just laugh and go "Er, no".

    Thanks for replying. I just didn't want to bombard them with stats and graphs and charts and maps of the world.... if they just wanted a one-liner of "I have 10 people a day that visit my very very popular site. Plz thx"
