Question On Attracting Affiliates?

I tried asking this on the JV Forum...to the deafening sound of crickets chirping. So I'm asking here now.

I just put up a much improved sales page for my first ClickBank product and now would like to show it to potential affiliates. I thought The Warrior Forum would be the best place to do that but I don't want to break any rules that aren't clearly spelled out. (I'm still gun-shy about that ever since my first month on the forum when I was banned for a week for mentioning a WSO in this forum:p)

Anyway, any advice from the experts is appreciated.

Cheers!

Ken

your not gonna get many answers for many reason 2 of them are the majority of people have no idea and the people who know aren't sharing.

Another reason nobody talks about it is because it requires talking to actual human beings and networking it takes a little time and can't be done in 3 clicks of the mouse.

here's what I do to get affiliates. 45% of my traffic comes from affiliates.

    1. create a high converting offer
    2. provide your affiliates with many tools
    3. advertise on affiliate related websites like Advertise at ABestWeb Affiliate Marketing Forums

key selling points are your conversion rates which must be high, your commission percentage 50-75%, and amount earned per sale which anything over $50 is considered decent.

you'll also want to go to any clickbank exchange, affiliate summit east and west trade shows related to your niche and start making contacts.

As an affiliate I find most people don't care about their affiliates. They don't explain how to use/find the links, they don't offer creatives, or good ones, they don't provide tools, they have rubbish back ends, they set high 'minimum payout' thresholds.

The ones I hate most - and would love to avoid entirely if I could - are those that 'switch' between them getting the sale (1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, etc) and the affiliate getting paid (2nd sale, 4th, 6th) etc. But a lot of my sales are "one hit wonders"

I actually don't really bother with Clickbank these days ... just some historic links lurking around on my site that I should really examine the stats on and probably just kill off.

If this is your personal product, you can do a WSO here but that's about it. As for affiliates, you will just have to network here and on other forums.

However, not all is lost... You said it's a click bank product so you can advertise on click bank at a very low price. You basically bid for your banner ad to be shown when people log in. That should get the ball rolling for affiliates.

Nicholasb is correct about it taking a while to get the big hitters. You will have to get to know them.

You can find big affiliates mailing address fairly easy. So once you get that, just send them something in the mail. I know this will sound silly, but send them some candy or something with a card that just says you would like to get to know them and network with them. Once you do that, wait about a week and send them something else. Then you can send them your contact info and ask that they please contact you and all you want is just 5 minutes.

As silly as that sounds, I know some big hitters and it works on them all the time lol. They love to give 5 minutes to someone that is willing to send them something in the mail.

Well good luck with how ever you do it

    LOL ... it happens.

People will correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having something like "Become an affiliate for this super-cool new product which pays 75% commissions" in your sig-file with a link either to an affiliate-page or to something like a one-page blog where you explain the whole thing to Warriors who may be interested ... as long as you don't also mention it in your posts, or post in a way which draws attention to your sig-file. Basically, you're allowed to promote/advertise in your sig-file as long as you don't do so in posts, in other words.
