Ideas for Monetizing a Forum

Ok, so we all know about the ways that Warrior Forums monetize through charging members for the special warrior forum as well as new ideas from the website's creator. I just started a forum for bloggers at TheTrafficBlogger.com - Index page and am looking for advice on how best to monetize it.

I've created forums in the past and used the "special area" idea for new members as well as tried subscription based forums. Do you have any fresh ideas for methods that work when monetizing a forum without turning it into an advertisement junk yard?

Here are some

1. Advertise Relevant Affiliate programs, with a banner on the top of your forum.

2. Make and advertise a Blog for Your Forum
This can be another traffic avenue for you (even if you add a squeeze page on your blog)

3. Set up a Fee-based section of the forum (one section of the fourm, for Paid members)

4. To forum members sell sponsored messages or text links.

5. Offer people private advertising arrangements [Banners, or WSO style]

6. Use Adsense on your forum, without going mad. (forum users will click these ads)

7. Make an Online Store offering your Products and even affiliate products

8. Ask for Donations from members - but don't beg

9. Offer monthly Paid Subscriptions for something unique to offer your members

10. Create and Promote a Forum newsletter which gives info on your niche to subscribrs

11. Sell “Sticky” Threads space (people would love to purchase the opportunity to purchase a sticky stop. Why not make money from it?

Great tips, though I want to avoid controlling the content that people create, so the "sticky thread" purchase is probably not something I want to allow.
