Email marketing providers: Why aweber is not in the list?

Dear warriors,

I have a question regarding e-mail marketing providers. I know most of you (or many of you) are using aweber service. However, when I tried to find some comparison info in the net - different review sites compare all kinds of services including icontact, getresponse, mailchimp and many others I never heard about - but NO aweber

I.e.

Why is that? Is there some catch in aweber?
Maybe there is some thread here on warriors forum, comparing different services?

Thx for your answers

With those review type sites, many of the links are affiliate links or paid placements. Better to check out actual customer reviews from forums and places like that.

I'm currently using MailChimp and haven't had any problems, but when my subscriber base reaches over 2,000 I do plan to switch (regardless of the hassle). Aweber has a great reputation and with something as important as your list, you really have to be careful about which company you choose.

Does mailchimp have convenient tools for HTML emails design? Does it have landing pages templates like aweber?

      Thx

Yeah HTML emails are really simple with MailChimp- they have a bunch of templates and a built-in editor to change colors, layout, add images, etc.

I'm not sure about the landing page templates, do you mean signup form templates? I haven't played around with it too much but there is a built-in editor for creating the signup form. They also have an "auto-design" feature that will analyze the colors and look of your site and create a design specific to your site.

I'd recommend designing your own form though for the sign up- you can get better conversions this way. MailChimp's standard signup form doesn't look that great in my opinion.

If Aweber provides landing page templates that's pretty cool- I never tried their service but I should take the $1 trial just to see what features they have.

Those review sites are full of affiliate-links. They typically promote and mention favourably the ones that pay them the most. Maybe Aweber is good enough not to need to do that?

It's a shame that MailChimps's terms of service make them so totally inappropriate for such a high proportion of internet marketers.

This post is interesting (but scary).

And this thread and this thread are pretty informative (but also scary).

I've got the point - don't rely on the review sites
This is one of the reason I'm asking this question here.

Alexa, thanks for the useful threads!

As far as I can see - the main argument is around free vs. paid. I'm not looking for a free service - I'm looking for a good one.

Any opinions on Aweber vs. GetResponse vs. iContact vs. other paid service?

I'm really looking for warriors advice, thanks!

Most people will be using one or other of the services you mention
but will be unlikely to give you a comparison.

I've used aweber for 6 years 100,000 plus list and no problems yet.
