There's No Such Thing As Set It & Forget It Websites!

Or Is There?

Well i'm a newbie yes, and i don't know what i don't know. (I admit that)

My question is.. can you make money online with no money and set it on auto-pilot with literally no start-up capital i'm

I know you have to buy certain basic things (yea yeah yeah)
But how about when your starting from the ground up or should i say the basement up?

I'm seeking some guidance warriors.

They say to find my self a mentor with the results to prove it.

Well I'm here... a student that has the ability to learn pretty fast and committed to dedicate myself to learning how to use and harness the power of the internet.

(To make money of course)

I'm hearing this is the best place to do it.

    To answer your first question:

Yes, there is such a thing as set and forget websites (I have one myself, $20 per day and no work).

You just have to check up on it now and again to make sure it's working correctly.

    To answer yor second question:

I don't think that set and forget websites are easy (or sometimes even possible) without investing some amount of start-up capital on the non-essentials.

Over a period of 3 yeras I have spent about $1,500 on website design and coding new features. I don't know if I would be where I am now, if I hadn't invested a considerable amount of time and money.

Others may disagree, but I am a firm believer that you need money to make money.

If you're relying on Google for traffic alone you can leave the site on auto-pilot to some degree. If you stop backlinking for a website all together you will eventually notice your site fall from the rankings, however it may take weeks, months or even years for this to happen - it's all circumstantial.

So to answer your question, yes, it's possible. But not advised.

Yes there are sites that you setup and forget, of course if competitor comes with heavy site then you will lose spot, but if not then not much will change.

There most definitely are set and forget websites. And they do make money. But it takes some effort to build them and then find a solid traffic generation method that won't dry up tomorrow.

Definitely possible, but don't let that fool you into thinking these websites don't require some work, especially in the initial stages. You don't want to get into the mentality of set it and forget it, especially with all the offers out there for products that can make you $XXXXXX on auto pilot without doing any work. You still need to put the work in and, more importantly, you need to learn the trade, so to speak.

I gotta agree, most set and forget websites only work after you have learned how to set one up and refine it so it earns money. once you know how to do that, you can craft it into an evergreen site.

that being said though, don't be fooled by the words set & forget! you may set up the site once but you still have to check up on it, drive traffic to it, fix problems with it and adjust it if income drops off from it.

many folk out there will say they'll give you a set and forget website but they'll just set you up and then forget you

    Sure is possible. Two examples:

#1 Old site, 2 years probably, 10 pages or so, never done anything with it, NADA. Last month hit top5 for targeted keywords. Probably will go away again, but since Google uses cycles to grab sites to show in SERP's, it will be back again. Just is just one example of this "system" - but have others especially with my oldest sites (2004).

#2 Sites with "user generated content". Plenty of options here, I love classifieds. Just takes me 30 minutes per day to approve ads and some updates.

So yeah, you can make money online with Set It & Forget It Websites.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Classifieds, huh? That's an awesome idea, once you got regular traffic coming and buy/selling stuff.

But yeah- I think set-it-and-forget-it sites do exist, but you should still check on them (or outsource the checking on them) every once in a while

    There is such a thing but I guarantee you it's not a business, it's a money-maker...

You can do adsense and affiliate stuff on auto-pilot but don't expect it to turn into a huge business on AUTOPILOT - you need to do work man, HUSTLE!

    Agree.

That is the tricky part, learning how to do it right.

If you want to go this route, SEO is your best friend. Build it, rank it and forget about it.

Launching a website normally will incur the cost of a domain and hosting at a minimum. I never recommend using free platforms to launch your business sites. They can disappear in a heartbeat when someone decides they are too spammy for their platform.

As far as set and forget goes ... well, you build a site, put minimum effort into it without really getting any traffic or monetization going, it's not likely to give you anything in return. The best sites and most successful sites are sites that are updated regularly and provide enough interest to people to return to them.

But if you just want to launch some review site or something like that, at least put some promotional effort into it and tweak it until it's converting before "forgetting" it.

Once your site is up and making money you can choose to just let it set and forget. If you do this I would suggest hiring someone to at least do some backlinking to help it keep its rank. Otherwise you could have quite a shock later when it has dropped off of page 1.

As for "You need money to make money." You do need some money to set up your site and get it going, but if you don't have any, earn some online! Do some writing for someone or offer to build some backlinks and then use that to get your site started!

There is a lot of good information in this thread so far but i will still try and add my 2 cents.

Internet marketing requires work. Yes there are tools and software out there that will automate some tasks but you have to think about this as a business and get to work.

All the people on here that make over $300 per day have done a ton of work and/or invested a ton of money into their business. But hey its worth it now because they are making $300 a month and thats enough to live off of.

Just don't get mislead that this is easy. Everything requires work. Even coaching programs on here require you to do the actual work. unless you plan on spending a ton of money, nothing gets handed to you on silver plate.

I think some newbies (and I am one myself) need to understand that it really doesn't matter what others say is "possible". Some people will tell you it's not even possible to make money online ffs.

    Try it yourself and see.

  • Yes, there are set-and-forget sites that work like a charm, or rather I'd say pre-structured sales funnels where the only thing you have to worry about is to drive traffic to the original squeeze page, and from there the funnel takes over on autopilot.

This is exactly the same question I asked myself way back when my first mini site was set. To make it short: yes, there are ways to automate most tasks and even content creation, the lifeblood of any search engine. The most hands down hands down option would be outsourcing.
