New .com/.net/.org for $1.99 from NameCheap

Hi warriors,

I just now saw this deal. New .com/.net/.org for $1.99 from NameCheap.

Domain names for 1.99 rare offer from Namecheap: | Deals and Coupons - Digg

You should grab this and buy handful of names that you were thinking in the past few days. Buy some 10 names, try out and see which ones make to the google first page in the first year, hold them and drop others.

Nice opportunity to test. you will never get .coms so cheaper. Worth trying out.

Thank you
Jai

I believe you can only get one new domain at that price (I could be wrong) - you have to "Like" them on FB, and you get a unique, use once, code to enter when purchasing a domain.

This is true, you have to like them on facebook and it's one domain per account.

Meh, I'll stick with my current registrar who doesn't require me to play games in order to get a fair price on domain names.

I wonder if they send you a bill for the difference if you "unlike" them? LOL

Now if only Tim Hortons or StarBucks would do this kind of a promotion

That's right. It will save you a little over $0.02 per day for the first year you own your domain.

    Hmmm.... I guess it's worth a like.

I just checked out their Facebook wall. They don't seem to be too obnoxious. LOL!

BTW they also have an ad on FB for .info - $2.99, today is the first time I saw it on the ad side bar, so guess they must be testing out media buys on there now.

Just a thanks for the heads up on this. My other domain is a .info I picked up from Name Cheap earlier this month as well. Having just gotten a 12 day trial version of Market Samurai this gave me the push to really go pedal to the metal to find the right micro-niche with enough SERPs potential, commercial affinity, and potential to quickly hit page 1 on G (it'll require lots of work, but not much worthwhile doesn't).

I found the magic keyword phrase that hit all those notes and now have my first .com (plus more familiarity with Market Samurai and its potential). Also expecting it to rank faster than my .info (which is a long-term project that will require more time to pay off).

For those newbies who want to reduce their startup costs, this is a good opportunity...

But then again, domains are already so cheap in the first place (10 bucks a year) Don't make the mistake of buying too many useless ones like many warriors when they first start out... Its good namecheap restrict this promo to only one domain

Since you bring up the cheapness factor of domains in general, its worth adding that the promo includes a free year of Whois Guard, and a free year of SSL. Both of which would bring the total price up to a lot more than $10/yr if they weren't free bonuses with the promo.

I see the one domain per person a good thing as well but for different reasons: limiting it to one domain prevents people from throwing a wad of cash into a cart load of domains to park & resell for profit later, before they expire.

But then I had no intention of buying more than 1 extra domain anyway.
