How I grew my online business over $2,000 in just 3 months

After seeing this thread (http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ness-10-a.html), on how to start an online business with as little as $10, I figured I'd shared how I've been able to make just over $2,000 in the last 90 days while starting with nothing. I know for some here $2,000 in 3 months is nothing, but it's the start of a long journey for me to building my online business, and figured sharing my basic start-up could benefit others in a similar situation to me

1. April 1, 2011 I decided that I was going to start my online business, and build it from the ground up by investing my time, and not my savings.

2. I started offering services on the webmaster forums (primarily link building/SEO). This is where I have earned most of my money. I wrote a guest post on JohnChow.com explaining this process, and what I thought were the keys to finding success as a service provider so quickly.

www.johnchow.com/how-to-start-your-online-business-with-no-money/

3. Using the money I made from providing services, I've purchased domains and hosting to start my own network of niche websites. I currently have 33 sites. While they havn't earned much yet (just over $100 to date), they are still climbing in the SERP's, and will hopefully be #1 for their given keywords in the coming weeks/months. To stay diversified, I have sites monetized with Amazon, some with Clickbank and others with AdSense.

4. I will continue to offer SEO services, while continuing to buy more domains with the money I earn and building more niche sites. This is to help me keep diversified (multiple income streams). While my Niche sites do not earn much right now, my goal is to keep building until they match and pass my SEO consulting income

Here is a summary of my income for the first 3 months:

APRIL INCOME SUMMARY

MAY INCOME SUMMARY

JUNE INCOME SUMMARY

As I said, I know others do MUCH more, but for those starting out, just wanted to share this and let you know it is possible to start making money online without having to spend money to get started.

That's wonderful for starting out and investing. It's amazing to see what the WF can do. 33 websites seems like a lot to take care of!

These are micro niche sites. Once I get them setup, they will (hopefully) require little maintenance. My goal is to get to 100 niche sites (all developed) within 1 years of starting (I have 9 months left!)

My sits are starting to come into page 1 and page 2 in Google for their niches, so will be contacting other webmasters soon to see about some link exchanges if I can't get the sites to #1 on my own

    Nice to hear that.
I think it is a good idea to offer your services, make some start-up money this way and then use this to invest in your actual business. Unfortunately often people get stuck in stage one and keep doing work for others instead of building their own business.

One thing however I wanted to ask you: Don't you think that 33 sites to start with isn't too much? I mean I would rather develop one site and put all my efforts into one site to make that a real killer instead of starting with 33. You won't be able to take care of all of them - in terms of promotion and adding content.

But anyway do what works best for you.

Congrats on your IM success! It`s always a motivation to hear fresh success stories from members here at WF

Short question: did you consider outsourcing parts of work from the 33 domains you own? If yes, which ones?

Good to see your three month summary of earnings exsuit, I wish I could earn that much in a month! I am lucky to see that sort of money generated online (for you in a month) in a period of six months!

I am utilizing the site Fiverr.com to build up revenues, but the progress is slow and certainly won't replace my day job at the rate it is going. However using some clever arbitrage techniques that I have learnt I plan to turn the tables a little bit, and start making more serious bank, with a lot less time and effort on my part.

Thanks for your informing post, it is inspiring and motivating to see

Great post, article and website; however you say that you started with just $10 however you also had a rented VPS and efficient little tool to find your potential URL's for backlinks - that's much more than most people start off with.

Well, while $2000 in 30 days may not seem a lot of money, but now you are making more money than at least 95% internet marketers, lol.

Now you can scale this business up, outsource.

    Good luck,

Nothing outsourced yet - I have the luxury of time on my side, and I want to create/master the process first before giving instructions to and outsourcer on how to do whatever tasks I eventually start to outsource

  • You should create an ebook on SEO and sell it to your audience. Seems that is where your strengths lie.

There is not shortage of ideas - just take a look at the buy-sell section of any webmaster forum, or the major outsourcing sites. Find something you understand/enjoy and go with it!

That's a really good idea. Will wait until I get most of my sites to #1 so I can determine with more certainty what is working post-panda and what isn't.
