Isn't GNC a franchise? You should be able to consolidate a JV with local GNC franchisees. They are usually involved in other business ventures. I do JV's with real estate (Century 21, ReMax, etc) and chain store franshisees (7-11, Dollar Stores, etc). You will continue to just get the run-around if you contact the corporate offices.

Franchises and corporate-owned stores both have strict guidelines as to what they can and cannot do. A franchise owner can lose his store if he violates that contract. A corporate-owned store manager can lose his job. Even if they can do it, they have hoops to jump through and red tape. Better to work with locally - owned sole proprietorships, IMHO. |

If this GNC franchisee is that important to you, I would say plan on making weekly sales calls on the phone or in person preferably. It is important that you demonstrate the value you can offer to his customers with of course substantial remuneration for the owner. I can see what's in it for you, but what value can you offer to the franchisee? That is what will get the door opened for you. Keep in mind, he may have been "burned" before by similar solicitations. | |
