Ok, I know that TLD's usually rank better in their own country. Has anyone noticed a difference between ranking a .us domains and .com's in the U.S.?

I've noticed that .co.uk and .com.au usually out rank .com's in their respective countries what about .us?

From what I have seen, I believe the .com's outrank .us in the U.S. This isn't coming from any real data though - just a few of my domain names... Would be curious to see some real concrete data on this.

.com are more prominent here in the US however I've seen people who spend a good amount for backlinks and such and have outranked .com with .us or .edu

To be honest this is always going to be up for debate..

Some guys will say you need a .com, period.

Others will tell you that the extension doesnt matter.

For one of the keywords I'm targetting, a .info holds #2 in Google behind an authority site, and I know there are lots of other KW with the same results
