ebook Launch - Need Help!

I am about to launch my first ebook and am having a bit of trouble with the process. We have created a landing page with video and plan to sell through Clickbank as well as using our own SEO to drive people to the page. Now it has occurred to me that a sales page is not enough and we should likely use a squeeze page. I am in need of some advice about the set up of the sales sequence. We have some bonuses in the form of a breakeven analysis tool, 2 special reports, and for anyone who buys the book an email consultation. Any advice from the forum would be great. Also open to recommendations for any products that can take you on a step-by-step through this process.

    Might wanna offer them a "peek inside" and read first few pages/chapter for free, a la what Amazon does.

    Obviously, you should go for the sale, but typically an induced bribe works also, including offering to send them something in exchange for them opting in to your list.

    Obviously, future email sequencing via an AR should add value in the form of quick nuggets and advice, with a pitch for the book.

    Try building 6-12 months minimum followup emails, (12-24 messages). Do this over the next month and it's easy to build that form of a sequence, and will work to sell forever for you.

      Thanks Max. I am still puzzled about the sequence. Do I drive traffic to an opt-in page or to the landing page for sales. I have planned some bonus offers for opt-ins but still can't seem to get my head around the whole landing page - squeeze page sequence. Some people put an opt-in on the sales page but I have also heard that's not a good idea. One page one action thing.

    Hi Ellie - there is no single method, I have sites where I send "cold" traffic to a squeeze page first and then they get forwarded to the landing page.

    The purpose is that my squeeze page converts at between 15-20% for cold traffic and my sales page at less than 2% - but after putting squeeze trafffic through an email follow up sequence after they sign for a squeeze campaign, they convert double.

    What I would have ready is a sales page that converts - you will want to send some traffic direct to the sales page so that you can split test different versions and refine the sales page first - get it working.

    I would also have a squeeze page, especially for "cold" traffic - you can forward traffic you generate from articles, Youtube videos, some affiliates (some will only go to non-squeeze landing pages - another reason to have both), etc...

    Warm traffic such as that coming from your existing list, your blog, affiliates who have a tight relationship with their subscribers, press releases (may frown on being sent to squeeze page) can all be sent directly to your sales page.

    Try to build your list and do a mini launch to your list to get conversions and later on try to get some JVs. Its the quickest way to riches

    When you go to start your testing, here's a tip...

    Buy some traffic through a solo list or safe list, etc... something low priced.

    Now, change your price point entirely - make it a free action or a $1 action at most.

    Get your Google Websiteoptimizer account setup and fire a lot of traffic at it.

    Now, the traffic is low quality and you're really not trying to make sales with it but rather using it to refine your copy/layout/sales letter. That is why you want the offer to be a free offer or a dirt cheap offer - because you want ACTIONS so that you can track the effectiveness of your testing.
