Help my site please :(

Hi,

About 3 weeks ago I created an Amazon product review site, added some content and all - I haven't done much linkbuilding though I'm sitting on the first page already.

I get on average 30 uniques a day with about 4-5 pageviews each, but very few click through on my Amazon link, and I have yet to make a sale.

Could somebody please offer input on this? What needs changing on my site?

Thank you!!

Your site is actually pretty good as far as an amazon affiliate setup goes. Your images are all linked up, you have a link in the text at the start of each review and mention amazon with a link at the bottom.

One suggestion that I've found increased my click through.....

Rather than just saying you recommend buying from Amazon and linking the word 'Amazon' try also adding a link that says something like 'Click here' to check out their current price.

Another thing I do now is add a bolded heading that says "Where to buy" near the bottom of the review and that's where I place my little spiel about Amazon.

You have to remember that not everyone will read your review word for word. Many people will skip and skim through parts of it so don't be afraid to be a little more pushy when it comes to grabbing their attention and getting them through to Amazon.

From the look of it you already have quality, helpful reviews there for people who take the time to read it, you just need to grab the attention of the skimmers.

      Hope this info helps.

It's not like your asking them to buy a $10 or $20 item. Your asking them to buy a $100 item. So it will take more time to get one large sale then several small ones. But join a longboard forum and contribute wisely. Recommend your site and you will get views.

Join google adwords or even 7search.

The forum thing is big because whn you are on the longboard forum , people looking for long boards go to your site . It is very targeted traffic.

        Hello,

Here are my suggestions to help your website. First, put some personality into the site. I read the about page and it's we and us. If I want a review on something I would rather have one from an "I" along with a face. On that note, try to get the email address of the visitors to your website and build up rapport with them by helping them.

Also, I haven't read your reviews as I'm not into the subject but tell the truth about a product and if it's rubbish then say so. Then when you find a really good product your great review will stand out. And keep in mind that every product, no matter how good it is has it's bad points so mention them.

        Hope that helps.

        Well, 1st nice looking site.

I was on it and saw nothing that really was (asking for the order, per say) what I mean by that is there was really nothing telling me to click.

On my Amazon sites I am directing them to click and giving them a compelling reason to do so.

On your site I really saw no reason I would wan to go to Amazon. In my opinion our job as marketers is to get them to Amazon pretty much pre-sold and let them go shopping.
When we do that good things happen.

Hmm how do I 'direct them to click'?

I gave you a couple of pointers on this in my post above.

Your call to action is just too subtle. It doesn't instruct the user to click through to Amazon and it doesn't stand out from the rest of your review.

    Thanks for the advice!

Yes, I've put in quite a lot of effort into the content as I've always believed that content should always come first. This is my first site and I have a new review coming up which I will end by the end of this week.

Thanks for the advice! Getting clickthroughs to Amazon is usually pretty rare. I hope to make some change and possibly make a sale by this month.

Anyone else feel I should make some changes to my site?

In all honesty, the website looks fantastic. I spent at least ten minutes reading it and watching two videos and I am not even that interested in longboards... So my opinion is that the traffic you are getting is not targeted or it is "spam traffic" such as people looking to backlink, people looking for content, people from other countries, etc...

Either way I am sure your website will be selling products with time, just be more patient and in the meanwhile you should work on backlinks and creating a second similar website... After all it should only cost u the domain name registration at this point

Good luck and once again very nice site.

I would also suggest looking into some copywriting tutorials and learn how to direct and draw the customer to the paynow button
