I'm setting up my first product with DigiResults & am trying to set up aweber to autocollect the names & emails of the people ordering. Has anyone done this successfully?

I know DigiResults allows you to post your aweber code on the backend, but that requires that you host your files with digiresults, which I don't want to do.

Any other way around this?

You can just add the autoresponder code to digiresults. They import the name and email to Aweber using the Paypal API.

You do not need to host the DL with Digiresults for this to work.

      Actually, you do.

Go into the admin panel > Add new product and in the Autoresponder part select "Other" since Aweber isn't on their list.

A message will appear telling you:
Please Note: this method only works if this product is using hosted downloads.

Make sure you've got a compelling optin confirm message though,
or all that'll be in vain.

AW is still gonna fire that off to them to confirm.

Hey thanks guys. About the confirm message - when I went through to set up the confirm email one of the options was not to send the email, which I chose. I assume that this is just going to skip the confirm message and shoot straight to the welcome message? Is that allowed?

I phrased the welcome message something like "thanks for purchasing, you can access your product here, from time to time we may contact you about updates, promotions etc.". You think that will fly?

i always use the aweber video confirmation message, this seems to work really well for me

    you dont need anything fancy

once people opt in or confirm after buying you dont have to tell them everything your going to be sending them, just a quick welcome email and thanks for purchasing and the download link is plenty good enough

also DONT FORGET to segment your list from freebie seekers and "BUYERS"

if you havent already done this, set it up in your automation so that once they subscribe to your product buyers list they automatically unsubscribe from your other list where they were previously

a lot of people dont do this so buyers keep getting pitches for the product that they have already purchased (a terrible mistake that a lot of people actually do make)

    hope this helps

thanks for the tip on automatically unsubscribing from the freebie list after purchase. I really wasn't asking about that but rather whether it's possible to get digiresults to automatically import their data into aweber on purchase of the product without the buyer having to opt in manually. I don't want them to have to fill in an email and name or confirm the opt-in. I really want the list building to go on behind the scenes so that no one gets frustrated about their purchase because they have to fill in redundant or extra info. I should mention that this isn't an IM product, which is why I'm worried that any deviation from just making a simple purchase would disrupt the sale or make buyers unhappy about their experience, most of them won't be used to the normal flow of buying info products online.
