New here, any tips for me on making money??

Hello,
My name is Kelly and I am trying to find a good way to make some money online. I want to be able to quit my day job some day. But my goal right now is to make extra money to pay off bills or just extras for my family.

Any ideas of how to make money on line. Like which sites are scams and whats for real. I tried ebay...I dont make that great of money with it. I've tried writing articles for clickbank products. Everything I sell just gets returned, so I haven't made any money there either.

Can anyone help me please?? I've been tring for years to figure out what I can do and It looks like people here know what they are doing.

Please help me

There's tips in almost every discussion thread in the forum. Do some reading (LOTS of reading) then come back with more specific questions.

    Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the forum. This place is a goldmine.

Read, read, read the posts on this forum.

And when you think you can't read anymore, keep on reading.

    That's the best advice.

    Kelly,

Those who say 'do a lot of reading on this forum' and 'come back with more specific questions' are giving good advice. But it's nice that you introduce yourself.

Girl, you are a trier, you have worked at several things already. If it doesn't work, you learn from it and move on. There's no need to spend lots to learn, especially now you've found this forum. Are you signed up to any good newsletters? Marketers will offer stuff for sale, but you don't buy until you find out what you need. My favourites are Sara Brown and Tony Shepherd (Laycock publishing), Lee McIntyre, Chris Rempel. Find their blogs. Have a good 2009.

I'm not just expecting people to take my hand and walk me step by step though this whole process. I asked for some tips and many of you gave me tips...thanks.

But I'm not seeing anything that I dont already know.

I know what I want on my website - I just cant find it out there. There is no product I found that I would guarantee. I'm not going to sale some crap just to make a buck and hope that no one tries to get there money back. I want something that I can stand behind it and guarantee.

Buy low, sale high....good advise....but I cant find it out there, or if its cheap its usually junk or so out dated. Any good sites out there thats worth looking at??

This is by far the strangest advice I have ever seen on the Warrior Forum :O. This is reminiscent of Homer: "Kids, you tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try."

My advice to you Kelly would be, instead of posting broad and vague questions, either ask really specific ones or spend a lot of time here (and elsewhere) absorbing info on one certain aspect of IM and master it.

knight if you already know it, why don't you have a niche that you've researched thoroughly and have products lined up? You should know exactly what you need to be doing.

      Kelly,
Welcome to the WF. If you know WHAT you want on your website, and haven't found it, perhaps you need to 'create it' first.

You might be putting the cart before the horse if you want to know how to make money with a product/service that doesn't exist yet.

That being said, however, in this game, you need to start with the end in mind, and effectively 'work backwards' from there.

I have a report called "Ass Backwards Marketing". PM me and I'll send you a copy.

If you need help with product creation, marketing of the product, you should think about what those things are.

Is your product 'physical'? If so, then you need to figure out how to get it manufactured, how much it's going to cost to have it manufactured, and where you are going to get the money to get it manufactured.

If it's 'digital' i.e. ebook, you need to do some 'market research,' find out if anyone is 'searching for it' or it's 'related' keywords' and then exploit the 'keywords' in your 'marketing plan, if you plan to market online.

You need a marketing plan. If you plan to market in offline media and you have boatloads of cash, you don't need to worry about keywords, just demographics and time slots.

In your marketing plan, you need to know what types of marketing messages you will use (Web 2.0, adwords, auction sites, etc.) and how you will distribute those messages.

What tools will you use in your operation as a whole, what tools will you use with what systems, strategies and methods?

If you are just looking to 'make money,' find something to sell on ebay that you dont' have to create or manufacture.

If you have a product that you want to market and distribute for a profit, then you need a business plan.

My suggestion: Have one BUSINESS model, and implement systems and strategies for making it profitable. If you keep looking for 'methods' you'll get fast fried brain. There are a billion 'methods,' but without models, they are just a house of cards.

I have a ton of ideas, I have my business plan all mapped out for every one of my ideas. All my ideas are phyiscal products. I either cant get the products cheap enough to raise the price and resell to make a profit because people are trying to buy extremely cheap now a days or the whole dropshipping thing - still is too expensive or not a good quality item. This is why I have not done any of these ideas.

I even have an invention that I would like to try and work on.....but I am the type of person that I dont want to take the money out of my bank account, I want to earn the money in order to do this.

This is why I am asking for help...a website you guys know of, a different approach to make money? I have tried the e-book thing, the ebay thing, the article thing. I just dont see how you guys can make money from this?? I am just curious how you find people who dont actually request there money back for all of these get rich quick things?

Kelly, first of all, welcome to the Warrior Forum. There are a lot of really great and very helpful people here, not to mention a ton of valuable information.

If you have done the "article thing" for any real length of time, you will find that it does work. There are countless people on this forum (eg, Steven Wagenheim and Dean Shanin just to name two) who report making 6 figure incomes, largely from affiliate / article marketing. You may not have done it enough yet to see any real results. A few articles certainly won't get you much return.

If you are primarily trying to sell "get rich quick things", then yes, you will get a lot of refund requests. There are a ton of excellent digital products on Clickbank alone that have low refund rates. You just have to do some research to find them. Many of the best ones are in the non-IM niche.

It does seem you are perhaps a bit quick to shoot every suggestion down....I think your mindset is probably your biggest obstacle here, not the products you are trying to sell or the methods that you have tried....

Anyway, keep us posted on your progress and what you find that does work for you.

I have tried the affiliate thing. I know what products are out there, I know how to sign up and how to generate traffic...I've done it. I've done really bad ones and some really good ones. Its not making me millions like it says it will. All that stuff is the same old thing...your selling people info on how to make money. Its like its a big circle of people selling ideas to people. Its all common sense and I think people are seeing that. So tell me how you guys make money. Not step by step, thats not what I wanted. Do you guys do e-books, affiliates, products, ebay, cash gifting...what?? Are you guying making $5,000 a month like the nicheblogger is???

The best advice I can give is to pick one idea or niche and stick with it until you start making money or realize that it's not a possibility.

Being in business for yourself is a big risk and you are going to fail so regard your failures as opportunities to grow until you find success.

Basic economics talks about risk/reward the higher the risk the higher the reward if it was guaranteed then everyone would do it

    Good luck

Thank you gcjmarkets. You are the only person who actually anwered my question. I was just curious how your guys are making money. I wasnt looking for a new way to make money...I have enough of them. Like I said before...I do ebay.....I do the blogging thing.....I have a website with products. I was just curious.

But then again, I still haven't heard anything new. Its all common sense stuff and I cant believe that there are people out there that will pay money for common sense stuff.

I have a niche that I am currently working on, actually one of my original ideas that I am putting everything into this year. It doesnt have anything to do with the internet, so I wasnt here trying to steal ideas from you guys. Just curious if anyone here is making millions like the website out say you can.

A fun and easy way to start earning money online is with a new blog which is monetized via an ad program like google adsense.

You can create a FREE blog at blogger.com and ad an adsense widget to your page.

Then, you can blog about a particular topic or theme of your choice, and the adsense widget will scan the content of your page and select ads which are relevant to keywords which you chose naturally in your writing.

Then, anytime some on who visits your blog (or site of any kind) clicks on one of these ads, you get paid.

I use the same technique on my blog right now, which you can visit to learn more about what I do by following the link below.

In order to make really good money with a blog, you pretty much either need to write about a niche which there is a good market for online today (which includes a huge number of topics) or be successful at marketing your personality as a cool new blogger.

      Good luck!

  • If you're willing to work for other people (providing services that they want) that will make money. You can keep that going as long as you're able to put the time in.

If you want to make money long term, you have to accept that there are few short term solutions. You are putting to one side what is a fairly sure amount of money monthly for potentially exponetially long term gains. In that case many of what you may call 'common sense' techniques will work. The important thing is that you're not just adapting to the latest trend but are offering something which some sector of the audience will always find useful.

Of course, you could try to operate some happy medium and work out what people require (in their short term) to learn on the job. But if the income is not urgent the best thing is to try and establish yourself as that will pay dividends in the long run.

I do alot of hard work on my niches and I am not looking for reasons my business are failing. I am making good money just not what I am looking for. I work a full time job plus my other 3 online business and I am doing well. i dont like it when other people pretend that they know who I am (jimrpips) because you dont.
