Any suggestions for this domain...

So, I have a domain just sitting around that I would like to do something with, but I am not sure what. I got the domain when I bought an ebook that was supposed to give you a free website....I got scammed. I am tired of just letting it sit there, so I started to work on it, but don't know where to go with it.

The domain is stayathomemomsworkfromhome.org. My original thought was to promote the ebook that got me started in IM, make a few sales and then try to sell the site. Then I started thinking of making it kind of a "mom blog" with articles about anything related to being a mom and about me trying to become a stay at home mom. If I went with this idea I could promote ebooks in a couple different areas... "make money online", parenting books, etc. My concern with this idea is it seems so broad. Would I be able to get targeted traffic that will be interested in buying anything? Should I just put a few ads on it and not try to promote ebooks? I know these are a lot of different thoughts I am throwing out there, but I really don't know what direction to go, or if it is even worth working on this domain?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am ready to get busy working on it, but feel like I need to know what direction I am going in first. Thanks everyone!

MY first impression is it's too long to have keyword domain value, and is too tedious for a type-in brand name. An auto blogger could get it to earn small revenue with little labor. I was surprised to learn that it does have Google KW tool matches:

stay at home moms work from home 12,100 9,900
[stay at home moms work from home] 91 73
"stay at home moms work from home" 110 73
From the rumblings I have heard from Google reps, exact match keyword domains may have seen their best days.

I'm getting span emails from some Russian who apparently registered a dozen or more sites with names not unlike yours. all showing a fake news promo for a CPA offer.

Thanks for the reply. If it were yours would you even bother with it??? When you say an auto-blogger could make some small revenue on it, what exactly do you mean?? I am pretty new to all of this and have one site that is earning some money, but would like to start something along with it.

    take a look at Mary Ellen Tribby's site - i think it's workingmomsonly.com - yep just confirmed...

And forget about SEO for traffic - everyone gets stuck on that because it's technical & people would rather do tech work than sell (which is the only way your biz will ever make a profit)...

You can probably buy a mail drop from her and just drive traffic to a squeeze page then pitch your list with various on target affiliate offers mixed in with some real valuable content and wham-bam-thank-you-maam you've got a profitable biz...

and if you can't afford her list rental, then rent a smaller list, but seriously SEO is for those who can afford to wait for results...

and if you;re gonna say you can;t afford traffic, do some handyman work on craigslist to get the money or babysitting or house cleaning or tutoring or whatever - just get the money to buy the traffic...

unless you know some super-ninja tricks for getting instant seo results (which some people do) - but this way is dead simple...

One of the best ways to get traffic sooner using standard SEO techniques is to build massive content.. If your trying to make that site an authority type, you'll need to pass the 100 post mark quickly. Which is a lot of writing.. Then SEO with blog comments to relevant sites, article directories, squidoo's and hubpages. Reach out to those communities and start gaining connections and a voice, you'll see traffic sooner with hard work and lots of time.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I really like the idea of using someone else's list, but you must have read my mind because I really can't afford it. I am already giving hitting lessons and trying to earn extra during the summer, but that money is much needed.

Still not sure if I should focus the site on making money online as a mom, or all things mom related?????? Thanks!

Let the domain name expire and don't waste anymore money or time on it.

Find a new domain name and target your energies in that direction. If that means working in another niche, so be it.

You need to do some proper keyword research, decide what niche you want to go into. If it's the stay at home mom niche then narrow down some relevant keywords that are low competition but still have some decent search volume ie 2000 a month, you have a better chance of getting some organic traffic to your site then.

Also make sure you are posting original quality content on your site ie 500 word articles on the keyword you are targeting.

You could put adsense ads on your site, cpa offers or Amazon products which are related to your site.

You probably won't make much money with just the one site but what you can do is then keep building sites, scale your business!

    Good luck
