Sorry if this question has already been asked, I tried searching for it on the forum, but couldn't find anything.

Do you think Facebook will be phased out like Myspace, and how do you see the future for marketers utilizing Google+?

I don't really think Facebook will be phased out as they are always updating and striving to stay on top with new functionality and ideas.

From what I understand, Google+ will make it easy for marketers to separate groups in "circles" and market certain products to specific groups. I am sure there are a lot of other uses for it too, but I have yet to sign up and try it out.

I think they will exist side-by-side. Facebook has a huge hold in social media around the world, but that doesn't mean they can't both become popular.

I am really, really enjoying Google+ and think it makes up in some areas where Facebook falls short (mainly, the use of Circles).

Every marketer needs to have a social media presence, and Google+ should definitely be a part of that.

There was an estimate released that Google+ will soon have 20million users! Nowhere near Facebook's reach, but still substantial. We have to go where the people in our niche are, and Google+ will likely become one of those places.

NO! Facebook is a more serious business model / establishment unlike Myspace and there is no way its going down in the near future.

Again I think you cant compare Google and Facebook; I feel like you're asking between a marathoner and a sprinter who can run faster whereas you know they are both good only that they dominate different areas.

I hope you catch my drift....

Joke on radio this morning - 'Google has reported they will have 20 million members for Google + by this weekend, but only 3 will know how to use it" ... lol

I think, G+ will take over, not anytime soon though. FB and G, both are updating all the time. Only problem with FB - they screw up the privacy and account settings every time they change even teeny tiny code

Quite honestly, I think it's too early to know which one will become the dominate site in networking.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if Google+ became popular for a while, but then died out because of the number of Facebookers out there.

But really, only time will tell. Perhaps Facebook will fade away.

In terms of marketing, I think you need to go where the masses are. Yeah, it's great if your target people who are in your specific niche, but you may not reach the numbers you want to.
