I have read quite a lot here and found mostly American companies, like vumber, phone.com Kall8 etc but I leave in Australia so I wish to hear from fellow Ausie Warrior what they are using and happy with? Can someone help?

I checked skype and found out that if you get an unlimited Australia wide subscription ( they only allow for landlines not mobile) you will realize that when you get the skype virtual number you will only be able to forward the online virtual number to landlines not mobile. To forward to mobile you will have to still buy skype credits to do that (this plus your subscription simply makes it not cost worthy). May be if skype can give us the same option like for the USA then we will be able to use them.

It is really frustrating that we are really struggling to get these sort of services when Americans are simply face with a problem of choice. They have so many options to choose from.

Hi, a good place to get virtual phone numbers is VoIPclub, the numbers are cheap to buy and can be redirected to any phone in the world with cheap call rates. The website is here. voipclub.biz

+1 for localphone (I am their no.1 affiliate lol but honestly its the best one of the lot.). I got a US, Singapore, Australia and UK number right now, all synched to my mobile, so if anyone calls my incoming UK number for example, the call gets forwarded to my mobile. I have to pay for the forwarding but thats about it.
