Hi.

Are Paypal echecks a safe way to ensure you do not get scammed in places like Flippa? I understand it cannot be cancelled after being issued.

Thanks.

The safest way to prevent being scammed when buying a domain, website, or anything of value that requires a transfer... is escrow. Try escrow.com.

If I accept an echeck, can the other person demand a refund from Paypal and therefore get scammed?

Probably, yes. But if you have proof, then you should do everything you can to supply it.

They can start a dispute in paypal but it doesn't mean they will win if you have solid proof. But in the end it's out of your hands which can be a bit scary.

I'd never sell a domain with Paypal unless I knew the person. I've heard too many horror stories of the transactions being reversed.

Escrow.com for sure, used them a few times. Don't take a chance on paypal, lots of scummy people on Flippa will almost automatically request PayPal, don't let it happen.

    Why Escrow.com and not Transpact.com ?

    More flexibility, lower cost.
(domain transferers with Transpact.com keep coming back)
