Finding the owner of a wordpress blog

I am trying to figure out how I can find the registered owner of a wordpress blog is. The blog is actually hosted at wordpress.com. (the site=www.xxxx.wordpress.com)

I typed it into whois and it returned only the wordpress.com site.

    Well, yeah - because technically Wordpress owns all WP.com sites.

    If someone is marketing on the site, you can report it.

    Otherwise, if you are looking for a link or something, just comment to the owner and see if they get back to you.

    You will not find it out...
    (whois returns registered domains and such cases there is no domain involved)

    The problem is the person has slandered me on the site and then removed my name (although I printed it out before they removed my name).

    I need to find out the registered owner so that I can file a civil action.

      Late to the party, but I believe it's called libel when it's written down and slander when it's verbal.

      Hope you got it sorted anyway, Wordpress are pretty good at responding to and removing inappropriate material in my experience.
