Hi... I'm a newbie blogger and I'm exploring how to earn money online. So I learn some basic information about optimizing blog. So adsense is one of my objective. I know that bringing traffic to my blog and creating good content is one of the key to be successful in adsense? Is it right?

But I'm just a newbie and confused so here's my question does Blog get rank in Google. I mean how's it's situation competing to a website? If I applied the SEO strategies in my blog does it has a guts to compete with a website?

Thanks!

Regards,

Elle

Yes, a blog entry is, in the end, a web page. Which can be ranked in Google and outrank other pages. As long you did the right SEO.

Yes a blog with consistent quality content and an SEO optimized page can compete against a website. As a matter of fact the Panda update from Google is till fresh enough that you are on a pretty close to even playing field with the big players. Just get to work and you will see the results.

Your blog has to be consistent and have some quality in its content. You should optimize your blog as it can be ranked in Google, of course with proper SEO management. The blogs that you will be posting should, as I have mentioned earlier, be of quality in content and should not be a copy-paste articles or blogs.
Just give it a try to submit quality blogs or articles and a page with optimum SEO; you are now competent to this IM world.

    Hi Elle

Google can actually prefer blogs to static websites, as they have constantly changing content, which the search engines love. The important factor in blogging is to ensure that you develop a reputattion for supplying useful, entertaining or interesting content.

That way, you will be able to retain more of your visitors, while the search engines approve your continuity.

Only by keeping the content changing and evolving will your Page Ranking grow, and your readership. There are many other factors to making a blog give you an income, such as list building, traffic generation, SEO etc., but it's the quality of your articles and posts which will build your business.

One of my own blogs was recently given a PR3 status, even though it has low traffic. That can only be based on changing content.

    I hope this makes sense.

    Cheers

    Alan

    Not necessarily, no.

Many people say that they get more clicks on the AdSense ads by bringing traffic to the blog and having bad content. There may be some logic there, as well: the worse the content is, the more likely people are to look at and click on the AdSense instead, perhaps? It's an unusual business model, really: the stuff on the page that produces the income isn't the content you post yourself.

On the other hand, if you have bad content, people won't come back. But then again, maybe that's less important because most people don't come back anyway? You need very good content for people to come back regularly, and those may not be the people who'll click on the AdSense and produce any money for you?

So ... don't assume that people who instinctively/automatically tell you that "you need good quality content" are necessarily right. Even if there are more of them than others.

    A blog is a website.

Some people say that "Google loves blogs", but they're missing the point, really.

The point they're missing is that it isn't the fact that they're blogs that Google "loves": it's the fact that they're sites with regularly updated content. Google really does like sites with regularly updated content, whether they're "blogs" or not, and that really can have SEO/ranking advantages. Good luck!
