Article Marketing still works?

I honestly don't find any way of getting a sale online just through article marketing.
Many people say article marketing doesn't work anymore. Anyone in here continues writing articles and see some results?

I get the impression that article marketing works most for backlinks, esp. when someone else fills their blog with autocontent. Not really as a direct generator of sales. I'm trying to figure out how necessary of a component it is, because though I'm good at articles.. I sure hate writing them. (Someda.. *dreams* when I can outsource...)

One question might be what you are writing about, what's your niche. If it's a very busy niche you might be swamped, but if it's a smaller niche, and your article titles really stand out, you may have some better success.

Some marketers, including myself, derive nearly all their traffic and income directly through writing articles. This has been discussed in many, many threads. Take a cruise through the forum with your search function on for "article syndication".

After the Google Panda backlinks from content farms seem to be not useful (and even dangerous) for my sites.

Article marketing definitely does work, and there are countless ways to market your articles.

But I absolutely LOVE when people say, "Article marketing is dead" or "Article marketing is a waste of time."

That means more FREE for me.

      FREE traffic

      FREE clicks

      FREE to employ

      Expenses $0.00 plus my time

Profit - I have a couple of thousand articles I published one time that still produce sales.

The problem is, people want to write garbage for 300 words.

Then they don't get clicks or views, and they quit.

You need to employ proper Keyword Density, engaging and interesting Titling, 600+ words, and GIVE THE READER SOME GOOD QUALITY.

      DO NOT SELL!!!

Also, send the reader to a free report or resource and capture email addresses.

Then you develop a relationship, send to email auto-responder, and continue to write more articles.

When people say thet article marketing is dead, it is because they write an article, and send the reader straight to an offer.

      That is NOT article marketing.

I went from $0.00 a month to a full time income in a month, after losing my job, car, computer, etc.

Feel free to post me a message, or email me at WFWriter@CoolAromas.com with any questions.

I will be happy to help you, no money involved.

My articles still get a little traffic and it's possible for well written articles to still rank. But Brent is right:

I personally think you'd be better off writing articles and posting them to your own site/domain.

Have to agree with JennySweets there. It isn't that article marketing no longer works so much as so many people are doing it that with very few exceptions all it is really good for is building backlinks.

That being said though if you have a product or service that is unusual enough to stick out from the rest of the crowd article marketing actually does work. It just has to be, if not unique, at least unusual enough to stand out in a crowded market.

Hello vannaylove. AM isn't nearly as popular in the last couple years. So much competition...so much crap out there. I still write articles. The backlinks bring in leads. Ezine Articles is still the best.

Hi Vannaylove, I think it really boils down to the same question you asked here?

My answer is the same one I offered here, which was shorter than but similar in content to the one I offered here when you asked for advice and tips.

Like Paul, who posts above, I derive almost all my traffic and income directly through article marketing. Article marketing works brilliantly. But what you've been doing isn't really article marketing, I'm afraid. "Article marketing" isn't about using article directories for their own traffic and/or their own backlinks. That's "article directory marketing", which really hasn't been a very viable model of business for rather a long time.

      They do.

They're people who imagine that article directory marketing is article marketing. All they're really saying is that article directory marketing doesn't work - and that's honestly history, not news. :p

The directories work. The evidence is in my retention rate. However, if people put out crap it doesn't matter whether they use the directories or not. That is the kind of article marketing that is dead. I'm sure that one thing you and I could agree on is that the only way to succeed with article marketing is with quality content, and that the people who aren't getting anywhere are the ones who like to take short cuts.

I've said it before, but it's much easier to just give the search engines what they want instead of going against the grain. No matter what your method is with article marketing, just take a little pride in what you do and create useful, original content. If you wouldn't want to read it, no one else will either.

Has article marketing ever stopped working? I'm not aware of it ever stopping.
