Question About Domain Flipping

Hello Warriors,

I'm new to flipping domains however I'm a seasoned marketer in other aspects such as affiliate marketing.

So my question to Warriors is, I found a domain to flip with 110,000 global monthly searches and 40,500 local monthly searches. Do you think it's worth to grab?

I can't really give away any other information about the domain because somebody may grab it before I do. The only thing I can give away is that it's a domain about a certain type of software (not trademark, just software, such as "note taking software" or "document writing software" except totally different).

Thanks,
Ben

Ben, from that limited amount of info, yes it sounds good. But unless all the details are presented, nobody can give you the answer you're looking for.

I sell domains all the time that have NO search volume. So to me that's not even a deciding factor. The main thing is whether or not it has a strong commercial intent and that it's a .COM.

Thanks Gene! Once again, I can't really give away any more information about the domain because I will give it away.

It's a .com domain, and has "kind of" strong commercial intent.

I think I'm going to purchase this domain and see how it goes ! Hopefully I'll get some luck.

      Ben

Ben, do a simple math. you know the traffic, with your experience you can estimate conversion and value/sale is easy to figure. Try to be realistic/conservative about your estimates.
traffic x conversion x value = monthly sales
Assuming all sales are net profit, divide the domain cost by monthly value = shows how many months to payback.
figure out how fast your usual project will payback, in how many months do you get your investment back.
If this domain will payback faster than your other projects, jump on it.

Well, if you just want it badly, jump on it anyway

I like the way you think . All in all, I decided to purchase the domain.

      Thanks for the tips though,
      Ben
