Services Exchange: BARTER SYSTEM

Not everybody has cash, but everyone has an ability to provide value.

I just came up with this great idea, but felt i had to post about it before i
lost it. Why not start a service's exchange. Where we basically have a barter system. Example i provide you x amount of backlinks and in exchange you provide a 500 word article on so and so keyword.

First let me start with what i can provide. And i'm not selling anything
just to clarify i'm just saying what skills i have and tools. I have acess to
Senuke x, scrapebox, Article marketing robot, best spinner, tweet attack
2, xrumer, tweet attacks account creator, ubot studio, and also i have
dragon naturally speaking so i can create articles as well.The reason i thought of this is because not everyone has the money to outsource a lot of the stuff that they need done, or they just may not no how to do it. Or you just might be better at somethings then others. I'm pretty sure there's people out there who could crank out articles like there's no tommorow, but don't know a thing about backlinking.

I think it's a great idea, also because you could practice some skills and be to the point where you can learn to provide services as well, find out what it is people are looking for, and what you need improvement in as well.

Let me know what you guys think, and let's set something up. I just thought of this so any suggestions or ideas are welcomed. Thanks.

    If you want to exchange services without any cash changing hands, you could probably post a thread in the JV section here. There's no real need to "set up" anything special.

    I always go to the jv section and only see ad swaps and people wanting to partner up with each other on a specific project. I'm just trying to exchange one service for another, not partner in any way. I guess i could post it in the jv section as well. I just thought it would be cool if i found a couple of guys where we could build off of one another.

    I do a bit of this and I really enjoy it. I have recently started offering my link building services in exchange for a backlink. Not the exact same thing but similar. I get one high quality backlink, they get a bunch of PR building backlinks.

      It's a great idea, and one I thought of as well sometime last year.

      It would definitely rock to have something like this on WF, or also a fiverr-esque site where people can post gigs and also what they need done.

      Could you offer it as a WSO maybe? Like a barter club? Just a thought.

    I have just recently thought of this myself. Several years ago my wife was involved with this in the offline world involving merchandise. Because of this there were some problems with exchanges.

    But because we in the online world deal with exchanging services there should not be a problem. This is very important to me and i know this would work.

    Although having a moderator would make this much more effective.

      Be aware that (for understandable reasons), in most countries the tax authorities have a great interest in "bartering schemes/arrangements" and can regard it as a tax-avoidance method, albeit that that's very rarely their primary intention.

      Many similar schemes, historically, once they've grown to any appreciable size, have found themselves receiving plenty of unwanted attention in this regard.

      To say that advice from a tax lawyer would be beneficial, before setting up anything like this, is perhaps something of an understatement.
