anti animal cruelty blog

Hello,
I want to make a blog like this The Anti-Cruelty Society or peta and when I have enough content I want to monetize it with sponsors ads.
So my questions are:
1] What are the different options to monetize a blog like that. I want to make a blog like that because I like animals and also a noble work.
2] Are there big sponsors or businesses or people who will put ad on my blog. I ask it because in internet may people said me some negative things like "they don't support animal rights", "animals r good to be cooked" etc etc.

May be this 2 ques sound silly to you but I am still in the planning phase about this blog.

Thanx.

First off I want to congratulate you on your blog I am an animal lover so I admire what your doing keep it up.

Secondly: You can monetize it by selling related items maybe become a Petsmart affiliate - or find a few dog training products on Clickbank to promote on your blog just use your imagination.

You need to build up your blogs traffic levels before any decent advertiser is going to pay you to place their ads. No-one wants a paid ad on a dead blog so concentrate on your traffic, seo, and build some good backlinks etc...

Competing against real non-profits can be tough. Perhaps, like non-profits you can have a store offering t-shirts and mugs with pro animal slogans (but no official logos)

Here's a links page mainly about parrots that includes general animal protection sites that might provide more design examples:

When you say monetize it - do you mean for profit or to raise money for animals?

I think you'll have to do it through selling advertising space. Charities spend a lot of money on direct mail advertising so I'm sure they do online advertising as well. Where do you start? Are there any blogs and forums that already have paid advertising on them you can contact?

You could also try to create products where a percentage goes towards a charity and make it VERY transparent how much. Or perhaps ask for a donation rather than a fixed fee for the product.

Personally if I visited a blog on animal cruelty I'd be more motivated to do something that helped the charity directly (ie. a percentage of the profits). I'm very wary of a lot of charities that are heavily loaded with administrative staff and my donations go to the payroll and not to the actual cause.

I think good content with good sponsorship is a good way to go but it massively depends on getting lots of traffic. With so much content out there (include controversial movie clips) I think it's an area you could really do well by creating and promoting viral traffic.

Good initiative for the noble cause..

To monetize your site one simple and inexpensive thing is put google adsense to your site . That will earn you per click

In addition to the monetization methods mentioned above, you might also want to spend a little time researching the various banner ad networks. Many of them have minimum traffic requirements, so you might have to spend some time building an audience before applying.

Are there big sponsors? Probably. In the US, many celebrities are known animal lovers. You may want to contact their publicists to see if they would consider sponsoring your blog in return for guest posting privileges, etc. It's a long shot, but might be worth a try.

In spite of my sig, I'm not really a supporter of cruelty to anything or anyone (there are a few individuals I could make an exceptions for, but that's another discussion...). I just happen to disagree with some organizations' and individuals' definition of cruelty. So I do wish you luck in your endeavors.

I am a dog owner and lover of animals and think this would be a great idea. There are alot of ways to monetize your site including clickbank products and other affiliate network sites on the web. You can also add adsense to your blog which will automatically bring in sponsors to your site where you can make money everytime someone clicks on an ad. Good luck with your venture!

I like you idea. I am an animal lover too. It's good that you are creating this kind of blog. To monetize it, sell products that are related to the animals. Like for example, dog foods and accessories.
