Everyone is Making Money Except Me.

I am new here and as I go through all the posts about internet marketing and how each member of the warrior forum is making money, I am feeling very lost.

I am 15 and have been searching and trying for ways to make money online from about 12, I've tried various different things and probably the most successful was domaining, where I made probably a couple hundred over those years.

I've also been scammed various times, and overall I really want to start working with websites to get at least some revenue.

My wish is to create a network of websites in fairly small niches, that will receive a few hundred or so visitors per month to each of them and from there the money will be made hopefully through CPC ads.

I am able to create these websites on my own, but I don't know any SEO or ways to get traffic successfully.

I don't mind each site only making a $1 a day I just want to show something for the thousands of hours (Not exaggerating) I've put into trying to make money online. My parents thing that there is no way to make money on the internet and that I am stupid for trying.

Is there anyone out there that was in a situation like me and that can offer something of what they did and how they did it?

Thankyou so much warriors.

Lachlandv, that's great that you're really trying your best but to be blunt I would try to dedicate your time to really becoming a master of a few technical skills.

I look back at my teens and realize that the things that have really made the most drastic impact on what I do is all those hours I poured into learning web design.

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I really do think that if you understand how websites work from the ground floor you have the best chance of making it. I say this because you'll know how to setup sites, create content, get people to the site and more. You can also use those tech skills to sell as services.

From there, it's really about finding niche topics that you really, really enjoy. Can't stop obsessing about your cell phone? Maybe that could be a niche. Skateboard? That could be a niche. You probably have a dozen or so interests that you could write about and pull in an audience.

Also, it's important to try out things and stick with them for some time. Try out freelance writing for 3 months or so and see how it works out. Maybe try out selling people's stuff on Ebay for a commission for 3 months.

I can only offer what I remember when I was your age. It's really about focus, plain and simple. Less time reading and more time taking action.

I'd just like to reassure you first of all that this is not the case. From what I can see, a very small percentage of the Warrior Forum is actually making money.

Thousands of hours and you don't know any SEO or traffic generation strategies? What did you spend all those hours on? Just curious as to what you DO know, and maybe we can offer some tips from there.

I would have to agree with Hamida on that, not all of the members here are making money on this, and if some are making money, they started small on it. They didn't start earning big money automatically, most of them started earning small and they inquired and asked some help from their fellow warriors and friends, they are now applying what they have learned and from there, they are now earning that amount of money.
You are still young and you have so much time to learn and improve in your goal to earn money through online business.
Good luck on that and always keep that positive outlook in life.

well first off you know how to build sites, great! you want to know how to drive traffic learn seo.. well if you learn SEO then you will start to get the traffic.

There is an seo section on this forum, there are some really good wso's on seo as well. Invest in a few, learn it and put it to work on your websites.

Maybe get a part time job or something which you can use the income to fund some of your IM work. example; you are going to need to backlink, if you don't like backlinking then you will need to outsource it.

just about every aspect of seo you can get someone to do for you, but you will need some cash to pay for it.

Don't worry, it's not only you not making money, I personally consider that the majority of people in the IM world are still struggling to make their first $ online, so that might "encourage" you a bit. However, it's good that you're so young, you have so much time available, you can learn a lot of technical stuff that would be hard for "older" people. So, don't be discouraged, money CAN and WILL be made online. Just focus on one thing, master it and use it to its fullest extent!

You have shown strength , taking your chances even when your parents don't believe in making money online . Guess what ? my parents didn't believe me either . But as time came along and they saw some income coming from the internet , they are becoming very firm believers

Not everyone is making money like you think . Only those who have stick to the plan until they see money get to make money

You are in the right place to learn .Lots of wisdom here on the warrior . If you want to make cash , just choose one method of making money and stick to it until it makes you money

I am only 25 right now . The first person who got me making money online was 17 when he started . Only 2 years older than you . He started when he created a website at 12 . You are not too young to succeed . You can do it

I would repeat what's been said - MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT MAKING MONEY.

Even people who have made some money often spent more than they made.

So, if someone has made only a few hundred dollars - there's a very good chance they spent more than that on services and ebooks etc.

So - in reality most people are losing money, not making money.

Don't get fooled by all the talk and WSOs promising quick easy money - it's largely hype and not a good representation of what is 'normal'.

In fact, if you've made a few hundred dollars you're probably ahead of most people.

I have to agree with Andyhenry - the reality is that most people who try IM never make any money, and most of the rest do not make enough to quit their jobs.

As Murlu suggested earlier, at your age it is great to have ambition, but it should not be at the cost of developing skills that may earn you a lot of money and keep you secure in your future. You can then sell these services online. There are plenty of people who create websites or graphics for other people for example and make a full time living off just that.

If you are intent on IM then I would suggest picking a method and sticking to it for at least 2-3 months to see if you make even a $1. There are plenty of free methods that you can start with. If you make money, just rinse and repeat. Just remember that some methods may take some time.

If you want to learn SEO, a quick search on the forum or even Google and YouTube and you should find some good tutorials. I found these in a couple of minutes

This is great advice. Everything that you need to learn is available for free - you just have to search here or google.

If there is something that you are not sure about - ask. People on WF are very helpful and most (although not all...) will give great advice.

Decide on a business model that you would like to follow; e.g. affiliate marketing, blogging etc. and learn all you can about that method and then put it into practice and focus on just that one method for at least three months. If, after the three months are up, you find that it is not for you, try a different business model.

Remember that a lot of people quit just before they get the success that they have been working so hard to achieve - so be patient, you will succeed.

      Good luck

LOL. Well, you might need to get off of this forum for a while.

The best method of making money I've seen is to create a brand, build a reputation, build a list, sell something that will help people (in any niche), follow up and treat customers like gold, create your own products/service, and rinse repeat.

This is very far from the truth. You are saying this because you are hanging out on a forum filled with people trying to make money online, so it just stands to reason that the most likely products being sold here would be on how to make money online.

The truth is that marketing to other marketers is harder than just about any other niche. Other marketers already know what to expect, they know all of the methods and techniques that you will likely use. They've seen it all before. Non-marketers are much more susceptible to marketing.

The best way to get a consistent cash flow as a beginner, is to offer services/remedial tasks that everyone earning big money can't be bothered/dont want to do(e.g link building, but theres stiff competition)

Offer a few review copies for half-price(or free if you're willing), get some good testimonial and even try to build a reputation for yourself on this forum and keep expanding and your business could go a long way.

Product creation etc isnt for everyone.

I'm new to IM also but I have made a really good profit on my second attempt.

My first was an absolutle flop and it took me 3 years to try again. So I can assure you, not everyone is making money online and your situation is not unique!

But you're only 15!!! You have ages to learn. But stick to one thing and learn that.

Maybe offer a service on fiverr to get a bit of money together.

I write ebooks. I don't know how to design mini sites or how to put them together so I out source the work.

Maybe try a free blog on Blogger about a subject that you know about and promote some clickbank products and earn some affiliate commissions. This is a free process so if it doesn't work, you've only lost time which you have loads of.

    But good luck!!!

I stand to be corrected here - but I don't think that Blogger allows you to do affiliate marketing.

Try if possible to buy a domain and set up your own site - that way you can do whatever you like without fear of 'someone' just taking down your site without warning.

I don't know about other kinds of affiliate marketing, but Blogger actually has AdSense and Amazon options in their settings, so they actually encourage those type of ads.

I've heard estimates that 99% of people that try, fail to make substantial money online.

The biggest moneymaker seems to be selling products that tell other people how to make money online.. This is the 1% that make good money over the backs of the 99%.. Most of the people that are succesfull here do this. Why else would they be here anyways if they are allready succesfull?? This forum is a part in their marketing schemes and they need more victims..

To make a decent income you need products to sell and you have to know how to market them, or have many popular blogs in niches that are good for advertising and/or affiliate revenue..

Stick with it, build a small wordpress based niche site (just one site to begin with) write 20 pages of content and recommend related affiliate products within the content (avoid CPA for the time being). Build your pages around keywords (plenty of searches not harsh competition) use Market Samurai free trial for this.

Then build up backlinks via article writing, press releases, blog commenting and blog guest posts.

Then monitor your traffic and test your pages to make them convert at a higher rate.

Keep doing this and you'll make money online, just pay huge attention to keyword & competition research as it makes everything else easy.

All of the Warriors are making money online?! Why the heck didn't you guys tell me!!!

Seriously though, you are only 15. I only wish that I was smart enough to get started back then. It may not seem like it at the moment but you are really at an advantage. My advice would be to pick a niche that you want to stick with for a long time, and start writing about it. Don't worry about the website yet, just write about it. Let's say you were going to do a blog. I would recommend just sitting down when you have the free time and writing out 100 posts.

Once you've done this, go ahead and purchase a domain and hosting, and then set up your site. Slowly start releasing that content you wrote, while adding to the pile with more articles/blog posts/whatever when you can. If you want to monetize with adsense, great; but that should be as far as you go with monetizing at first. Remember, your currency for the moment is time, and you have plenty of it.

You will see that over time, you will build a very loyal following by not selling to them right away, and will also get a lot of casual lookers popping in every day. After a few months, start slowly introducing affiliate products that are helpful to your niche. The sales are guaranteed to come in. Once you start doing this, don't forget that the majority of what you post needs to be quality content! Don't forget what brought your readers to your page in the first place.

This may seem like a slow method to start bringing in the money, but I would say that if any of us IM'ers had the advantage of time that you did, this is the kind of thing that we would try. While building up your site, take in courses or lessons about web design and SEO at your own pace, and test what you learn on your own website.

I'm really reluctant to correct this, because it's close to the truth. However, there are some people who have had affiliate marketing blogs at Blogger for many years, and got away with it, so it isn't really quite right.

It doesn't actually say expressly, anywhere in their terms of service, "thou shalt not do any affiliate marketing here".

What it does say (albeit that I'm paraphrasing slightly) is "You don't own your blog here; you might own the content, but we own the site itself and we can delete it in the night whenever we feel like it, with or without giving a proper reason, and we will, too, if anyone reports it because they imagine it might be spammy, or that you're using it to generate traffic to another site (and that includes affiliate links), and by the way they're our terms of service and we'll change them whenever we feel like it and interpret them completely inconsistently and idiosyncratically because we like to do that, too."

So, strictly speaking, you're "allowed" to do affiliate marketing on a Blogger blog, in that it's not expressly forbidden in exactly those words, but it's extremely unwise because you'd stand to lose a chunk (or all) of your business at the flick of a switch and you can never control the switch yourself.

Much more detail is explained in this thread, among many others.

The essential point is that setting up your own, self-hosted Wordpress blog can be done without spending a penny anyway, so the idea of setting one up on Blogger which you can never own or control, and to rely on them - as so many Warriors have found out to their great cost - is "distinctly less than optimal" (to put it very politely indeed).

    You think so?

I've been hanging around these parts for nearly 3 years, since I was 18, and my reading of the situation is very different from yours. I strongly suspect that comparatively few people here are making any real money worth talking about. Including a few of the ones with the strongest opinions and loudest voices, and incidentally more than a few of the ones with the letters "SEO" in either their usernames and/or their sig-files.

Call me a skepchick, but I also suspect that a significant proportion of those here who are making some decent money are doing so by promoting shovels rather than by digging for gold themselves. I'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with that in itself, but just be aware that many of those models of shovels - contrary to some of the representations made about them - have never actually been used on a successful dig at all, and a few of them are even full of holes and the only money they're ever going to make for anyone is by being marketed themselves.

    I wish I'd started when I was 15. You'll do fine.

I am able to create these websites on my own, but I don't know any SEO or ways to get traffic successfully.
My suggestion is to use the Warrior Forum search function and look for the terms...
    "SEO"
    "Article Marketing"
    "Video Marketing"
    "Traffic Generation"
and any other terms that you might have questions about.

All the information you need can be found somewhere buried deep within the forums. You just have to dig it up, and find the answers that you are looking for.

...the best method of making money is to sell how to make money products that teach people how to make money selling how to make money products.
No offense, but this is just crap. The best method of making money on the internet is to find a problem that a group of people have, and solve it. Everyone has problems, and most people would pay to have a solution to their problems.
Writing re-hashed crap thats 15 years old, and selling it to Beginner IMers, is just an endless loop of BS. Yes, some people make good money selling ideas and tools to Internet Marketers. But, the Marketers making serious money online are the ones that solve problems in one of the infinite number of niches in the world.

You also need to find what is right for you, and what works. It sounds like you have a bunch of small blogs that aren't getting you anywhere. Have you tried focusing on a single blog and building it up to a point where it is profitable? Have you tried non-blog websites to promote other affiliate offers (Such as Amazon, Clickbank, or CPA's).

    Quick Re-cap.
    1) Use the Warrior Forum Search function!!
    2) Don't spread yourself thin!!
    3) Don't jump from one idea to the next...
    4) Not everyone on the WF is making money.
    5) Not everyone on the WF is an exert about Internet Marketing. So do your research.

Your post made me think three different things:

1: "Everyone is making money except me" - reminds me of my cat. He says that everybody has an iPad except him, and we all play games (Age of Conan - my husband - Rift - me), and he doesn't even have an iPad with games for cats on it.

2: You've been trying to make money. So you didn't make any. That's understandable. If you try something, you don't do it. The moment you start doing, you'll make money.

3: You make a statement: "Everyone is making money except me". Your mind will remember that, so obviously you will not make money.

What you need is a shift in your mindset:

    - Believe that you can make money online (I know two boys who both make money at the age of 14 and 17 - the latter started three years ago). You CAN make money online.

    - Stop trying and start doing.

    - Move on with your plan of making just $1 a day online. That's very realistic, and it shouldn't take you that long to reach that amount. One of the easiest ways for beginners is to write a blog about something you like and have AdSense, placed the right way, on that blog. You can come back and ask for advice here when you have created your blog.

    - Do ONE project at a time. When you've reached your goal of $1 a day, you can, if you like, move on to the next project.

    - Focus and persistance will get you there.

The easiest way to make money online is by offering services, as was already said in this thread. However, nothing is really easy in fact because there is a fierce competition everywhere.

I don’t like these sites because I used them to find providers and I had terrible experiences, but many people are making money by offering a service at Elance and Odesk.

Whatever you do online is basically based on sales. You sell a product, or you sell your services.

There are also surveys and paid-to-click programs, which require only patience. I don’t like them, but I know that many people are making money this way.

I’m making money by selling my own products, but not regularly, this is my problem. I may sell a lot, but them I have periods without sales. It’s very hard to establish a business online, be trusted, beat all the competition, and especially, get enough traffic. You have to do many things until you’ll be noticed online, and mainly, until you’ll be trusted. And, even when you have some success, you also have to be able to have regular sales, without dead periods. This is very complicated.

If you have an online business there are too many things you have to do: build an email list without a doubt, send nice messages to your subscribers and build a relationship with them, write articles to promote your work, participate of forums and blogs… It’s a lot of work, and there is no time for everything…

I think that the best thing you can do is offer your services. You’ll also have the chance to gradually study internet marketing. It is a very complicated matter. Don’t pay attention to what they say. Nothing is simple online. Everything becomes easy only when you learn the rules, you follow them, and you keep working. Work creating websites for others at elance and odesk, and make money without spending money, and without having a lot of work to do in order to maintain your online business.

Be aware that are also many unexpected facts… What if someone bought your ebook but he doesn’t know what a password is? You have to give explanations, interrupting your work. Your customers must be satisfied first of all, they are paying you – and some of them believe that only because they bought your products you have to keep helping them… there are many unexpected facts online.

You may also have to face strange problems, be attacked, robbed, etc. There are many thieves online, everything is very dangerous. The internet is not a game.

If I didn’t have this business, I would work only offering my services as a writer because this is what I do well. I was selling articles about internet marketing and giving lessons to everyone, but article writing was taking too much of my time, and I prefer to promote my business than to write articles for others… It’s complicated.

I saw that it’s very hard to do many things at the same time. It’s better to focus on One main activity. Do at least one thing very well, and you will make money. Offer your services, and be very insistent. Give better prices, work very well, and you will get good feedback. This will help you get more customers in the future. Don’t create your own business right now. First of all learn what you need, and make money without spending money and without being obliged to do certain things because you have an online business.

I am not sure if this is the right forum for me to post this, but I have to tell somebody. This last week i made my first 2 sales on clickbank. I haven't been able to have my own domain names yet to drive traffic to so I've been making lenses on squidoo. It took me over a year to get to this point, but now it feels like it isn't all for nothing.

Everyone is Making Money Except Me.
Sorry chief, not enough to go around.

OMG! I am so (not) funny.

Dude, you're 15. Buy a guitar, find a girlfriend. Have fun while you can.

As for making money, the rest already gave you some good ideas.

I admire your spirit. I wish I had been so determined at that age. I just wanted to buy a car.. have a girlfriend and play guitar.

Send me an IM with your email address and I'll give you some great direction. I started less than a year ago and I'm around $3000 a month. And contrary to what most will tell you.. making money online is easy. No worries.. I won't offer to sell you anything. I don't have a damn thing to sell.

Make one critical post and it quietly gets deleted.. lol

If you're 15 years old, you should focus on learning skills. The internet will be there for a while, so learn all about it, don't worry if the money isn't flowing in and don't spend your cash on people that claim they have the method to make you rich quick.. Use common sense and spent money on your education and enjoying your life!

It's much easier to lose money online than it is to make money online..

One thing that the internet has taught me is that there are many opportunties out there, if you direct your thinking. I believe it's probably easier to make money in real life than it is online.. Dealing with virtual products can sometimes be hard to get your head around, I personally still prefer tangible, checkable products, but the internet can be a very usefull research and marketing tool..

Don't put all your cards on the internet, but if you are passionate about it, then try to learn as much as you can about it and you'll probably succeed one way or another..

There's a good reason why they call it the warrior forum, because it's a very competitive thing, trying to make money online. I view it as a game. I turned the net on for the first time a few years ago, and I've made a few thousand from writing articles on sites like Factoidz, and doing gigs on Fiverr. I just started trying to build my own websites, and so far after a week, I've spent more than I've made, but I know it takes time. I spent many hours learning SEO, but the best way is just to write because you like it, with a basic understanding of keywords and back links, and slowly build your residual income from Adsense on the pages. You might do better to write on other people's sites for a while, while you learn, and figure out what you want to focus on. That way, you're guaranteed to make money, not lose any. I can make five to ten bucks an hour on Factoidz and Fiverr, and in some countries, that's better than a regular job.

I am 14 a year younger and I came in the this with a mindset of this will be fast money.. I will make a website put ads on it and BOOM! I will start making money.. Sadly it's Not that easy.

The best thing you can do is learn and try little things to make money if you go for some too big to start off with you will most likely fail and loose a bunch of money.

I think it's great that you've taken the initiative to begin with. Even though I do well in some markets, I totally stink in other markets. The one thing I've learned is...I do well in the things I already like or know the area... and the things I do not know or am no expert in, not so well.
