How would you invest $1 - 5K

Hi guys, I'm coming into quite a tidy redundancy payment.

I'm going to invest most of it, but would like to invest a small bit in IM... I've already invested around $500 over the past 6 months on software and wso's...

My goal is to have a passive income of between $1,000 and $3,000 per month.

I'm concentrating on amazon and adsense sites... and would like to continue what I started.

On another thread it was suggested to pump a couple of thousand into an amazon site, lots of articles and outsource seo. Have it earn a couple of hundred a month and flip it... they usually sell for 10 times the monthly income... would this be a good plan?

My amazon sites all have medium to low competition... what would be the best use of funds to rank these... I've already spent around $80 on each for articles and around $50 for seo services.

Feedback appreciated.

It will work - selling profit making Amazon sites - but personally I will not do it. Making profit in Amazon is no easy job, might as well keep it to yourself. But unless you do not prefer to keep it, then yes, it will earn you decent money in Flippa.

You're probably right... I can see the potential of a good amazon site, as long as you've done your keyword homework, and you can get it ranked well.

So... what would be the best use of the money to rank around 5 amazon and 5 adsense sites?

Use outsourcers or buy some software?

I would watch out for amazon if you are in the USA, your whole plan can come crashing down if your state decides to try and tax them.

I would use a whole lot of that money to buy content. Quality content too, not $.01/word crap that only the search engine likes to read. Post the content regularly, not all at once.

I spend a good amount of money into hiring some of the best writers to write me nice product reviews. Cheap pay gets you cheap quality, remember that. Your review is the one who will do 'talking' to your visitors.

Next is on backlinking, I am using 3waylinks from Jonathan Leger and so far it works pretty well. Time to time I hire people from elance to do it as well.

What are "Amazon sites"? Can't you sell Amazon products and deliver AdSense ads?

What do you do with the reviews exactly?
Sorry, should have been more specific.

Amazon affiliate sites... I review products and send the user to amazon and hopefully make a commission on each sale.

Also, forgot to mention, I'm not based in the U.S, I'm Irish, and based in China

I haven't made enough commission with amazon yet to get my first cheque, I've only made around $70 so far... I think it's $100 before they'll send you a cheque.

I have a bank of China account, no idea what they'll make of an amazon cheque or adsense for that matter.

Well , I am based in Romania, and I have received 2 cheques till now.

I went to the bank and told me that the process will take 35 business days. I went to the comercial bank.

At the other banks they told me to wait 1-2 months to get it.

You don't have to have an account with the bank to clear the cheque.

At the bank they told me they will call me and will give me the money in cash(no deposit..etc). This way I am not going to pay big comissions to the bank.

I hope that amazon will introduce soon Credit Card payments, or Western Union. Will be much more easy to get your money.

Yep, completly agree... I've gone down the cheap article road, and it's a waste of time and money.

I'm paying around $10 - $12 for my amazon reviews at the moment and I'm pretty happy with the content. Big difference between a $5 and $10 500 word article.

I'm following an amazon wso, that suggests 7 reviews per site... so, I'm doing 7 - 10.

For the adsense sites, they're not really authority sites, so I think 4 - 8 quality articles is ok. If I can have them bringing in $100 each a month I'd be happy.

Thanks, I'm about 6 months seriously into this game, and the only problem I'm having with your steps is the link building.

      a) I don't have time or patience to build links regularly, important for link velocity.

      b) This leaves outsourcing, which I have no problem paying for... however, it's finding a reliable service that gets results... I'm currently using an seo service, $17 a month for each site... 1 month in on 2 sepearte sites, with medium competition, I'm not seeing great results... I've been told it can take a couple of months though, which is ok, as I know IM takes a while.

So... anyone have any advice on link building services? What I should be paying, how long it should take to see results... at what stage should I be looking into outsourcing?

      Yes and

      5) dont give up, you may or may not see results instantly, just keep at it...and stick to one thing until you master it.

Yup, I've had a look at your site a couple of times... am I right in saying you sell a bunch of sites, or individual sites?

We create a ton of sites across a variety of niches. We keep a large majority of them, but sell off some of the sites in bunches so that we can keep expanding/growing/scaling the process. It costs a bit of money up-front to create the sites start to finish, so our Flippa sales help fund that expansion without having to come out of pocket. Basically, it's self-funding and growing until it gets to a level we're happy with.

We normally just group the sites together when we sell on Flippa...usually in bunches of 4-8 sites at a time. They usually make $80 - $150 per month combined. We could probably make a little more money if we sold them individually, but we put some hours personally into our post-sales process, so if we sold them individually for smaller dollar amounts each, we'd still have to put in that time for post-sales. That would end up putting our per-hour worked at a lower level, which is why we bunch them together. Currently, we're offering 2-3 auctions per month.

Definitly interested... but I won't be in the cash for another few months... Is there an alert I can set up to let me know when the next auction is?

I also notice you're using clickbank... do you get much revenue from this?

            Hey there,

You can either go to our website and subscribe to our emails. (Aside from info on our sites for sale when they go up, we also give real, non-salesy content and tips that we hope you'll find helpful) Or...you can make us a "watched" seller on Flippa to get alerted when we put up new auctions.

We barely use Clickbank...I think one of our last sites had a CB text link at the bottom, but it was only to test it out. We've been testing out some affiliate stuff on the sites, but our bread and butter is AdSense by far.

Forget Adsense you'll be very lucky if you earn $100 a month from a 4 - 8 article site do affiliate marketing instead it pays much better. Build a 20 page content filled site recommending relevant products in text links throughout the site.

When you say affiliate marketing, you're including amazon, right?

I have to say, I can see potential with adsense... it's popular for a reason. I like the idea of leaving a site and having it generate income on auto pilot.

Also, there's plenty of small adsense sites on flippa that have $100 and over monthly income.

    Hey,

I can tell you one thing and I'm 100% sure about it:

There's no the best way to do it

But, if you want an opinion from me, here it is:

If you're new, I would get inside a coaching program.

Jason Fladlien just launched his coaching program "6in6coaching" and it costs just $97 per month, which is an amazing deal (if you're interested in it, contact me and I'll give a huge bonus for it if you go through my link)

    So, coaching would be $97.

I would get hosting account, AWeber (autoresponder), domain. That's $40.

Then, I would start building my list.

I would set up a simple squeeze page, and then buy solo ads. The best resource that I currently know for getting solo ads and also setting up ad swaps is safe-swaps.com, but it costs $25-$35 per month and I can say it's well worth it, because they have feedback system just like EBay has. Again, if you want to register, send a message to me and I'll give you a bonus if you go through my link.

Before you buy solo ads, set up a thank you page and a page with your gift. When people sign up, you will take them to a thank you page where you have affiliate banners. That way you can make your money back immeaditly. You also have a couple banners on the page with your gift.

So now go there to safe-swaps.com and buy a couple solo ads. Spend $600. For that amount of money you will easily get at least 1800 clicks. If your squeeze page does it job and you have an exit pop up, you will get 900 subscribers. You can spend even more money.

Now you can start ad swapping. Use safe-swaps.com for that. It will make your life easier

    That's what I would do.

After 12 months you should be making $4000-$8000 every single month from ad swapping.

By the way, if you don't know what to promote, I recommend promoting Jason Fladlien, Lee McIntyre, Kim Roach. These affiliate programs will pay you a lot of money

    Hope this helps,

    Matt Poc

From what I can see from your post and your comments, the best thing I'd suggest you do is invest in your education.

You're asking questions that you should probably already know the answers to, and, with all due respect, I'd personally recommend that you take some time with a mentor to work with you, and pay for some top advice instead of buying WSOs galore.

Grab ahold of someone who is making it work and making good money with IM, and the sort of money you are hoping to achieve could easily be done with the right systems and strategies.

Don't waste your money on software or something you are not sure about, but rather invest in your education to become smarter in your marketing and wiser in your planning.

    Good luck

If I had $1,000 to invest, I would buy a really nice video camera and a lapel mic.

Along with my blog, I run a video blog on youtube. Currently I use a regualr point and shoot camera for my videos. It would be nice to have something that records in to 60 frames per second range.

        Thank you.

All of my articles are original content that I create. The articles usually have a couple of images that I took the pictures for, and a video that I made.

I believe there are around 3 different types of bloggers / internet marketers:

1 - people who put out as little effort as possible

2 - people who put out "some" effort, but not too much

3 - people who go the extra mile, or even 2 or 3 miles. These are the people that are willing to do whatever it takes to create a nice site, and create original content.

When I see people saying they will buy ad space on other sites, that means they do not want to put out very much effort. Banners are the same as saying "I'll just get my traffic from another site, and let them do all the work."

If someone invest their money into material items, if the site fails, they still have that item to use elsewhere.

One of my friend has blogspot account and with just posting 1 article a day with do know nothing about SEO and other marketing strategy gets $2000/month from Adsense. So in my opinion just make blog with topic that you like and posting frequently then lets Google do the rest. Just my 2 cents

Nice thread....I see many ways to invest that money. I had thought if I came into that kind of money I would definitely get a coach first. Someone whom I could talk with daily that is actually making money. I've bought into all the product launches to be disappointed. I have made money on simple affiliate blogs using clickbank products. I just did a ton of keyword research, spent time on back links and created my own original content. I have an apple iTunes affiliate website i created but the revenue generated in sales is very minimal you only get like 3% of sales but it made sales in the first month I put the site up. I'm just going to keep rinsing and repeating until I hit my target income.
