Hi,

I currently have a tutorial website offering bespoke articles covering tutorials on my chosen niche.

I've decided to invest a couple of thousand $$ and have 6 one hour in depth videos - in essence a complete course - covering everything to do with my niche. It is probably the ONLY example within the niche of this and will definetly be the most in depth and complete thing of it's kind within my niche.

The questions is - how much should I charge?

It depends on your time and effort, you better decide what cost would be better?

      Hey,

I'm paying for it to be created. I was thinking around $300 but is too much to send to my list (5,700 or so) ? Everything else I've mailed to them so far has been around $15 or so. Maybe a shock to their system.

What are your conversions on a $15 product when you email?

Could create a $15 report or something and offer the video tutorials as an upsell.

Only you can tell how much they are worth as it is your market and your customers.

        Regards
        Dave

Email conversion rates are around 30% open/40% click ... usually get around 30 to 50 sales per email blast. Once i send out the blast i add the email to the auto responder chain... which sits at 32.66% open/57.6 click (avg) and i usually get around 8 to 10 sales a day.

It's a very tight niche and when i asked all the followers on FB what type of content they would like the video courses were miles ahead of anything else.

I would think the $300 would definately be a shock to your list and the upsell idea is a good one, it sounds like you're pretty committed to this niche so I hope it works out for you!

$162. at $27 each. I'd use Viddler and make a store with their membership access system. Place each video in it's own shelf and let the user choose which video they want to view at $27 each.

Once you break even, bump the price to $37. Keep raising the price until it's to high and no one is opting in. Close your store for a while then open it at the highest price you charged until viewers stopped watching your videos.

Then leave it like that forever.

      Nice - thanks...

Is it worth the $100 a month?

Why not save yourself the monthly fee and buy a one off purchase like easy video player 2 which hooks into Amazon s3 to deliver the videos, setup a membership area on your website.

What do you mean? Four paid viewers and you break even plus a few bucks. If you don't think you'll get 4 viewers in a month forget making the videos.

It takes 5 minutes to setup a store and and 15 seconds to grab a player stick a teaser video on your website, Facebook page or where ever. You don't need any access software. Hell you don't even need a website. You can send people directly from social sites, Twitter, you name it directly to your Viddler video store.

I create membership sites using WordPress, DAP and vBulletin. They cost about $1500-$2500 by the time the smoke clears. One of my clients makes 5-6 figures a month with that setup and it cost him about 2 grand. He thought the $2000 was a lot of money until he saw 300+ people join his site in the first month.

Serve your video fast. No stop and go video. Collect with PayPal right from the Viddler system. Try it. If it doesn't work out then unsubscribe.

Your dumping a couple of thousand into these videos. Do it right and you'll make a ton of money over the long term. $100 bucks a month is cheap.

There are other options but Viddler has a ready to go video subscription store system already setup.

You could use BrightCove or Amazon S3, but then you have a bunch of add ons to buy and setup. I no likely those systems.

I meant the service they offer - is it worth $100 ? There are similar services out there that are cheaper, i just wondered if the service was worth it.

If you already have a list, why not survey them about it? I do that all the time with my lists to ask about new products, what they are interested in, and how much they would be willing to spend, etc.
