Having trouble verifying Google Places by SMS

Hi everyone!

I am helping some clients with their Google Places listings and want to verify the listings by SMS but having trouble doing so.

I live outside the US so SMS verification is an option but the only number I can choose when I pick the SMS option is the business' regular phone number (i.e. not a mobile phone number) that can't receive an SMS.

I have tried to add a mobile number besides the regular number but it's not shown when Google wants you to pick a phone number for the SMS. And when I change the regular number to a mobile number I get only the post card option.

Does anyone know a way to use the SMS option and avoid the post card? It would really help me.

    I dont think I can help cause I never had a chance to use text to verify a google place. Do you mean a google account?

    Maybe you entered it wrong. Simply enter your mobile phone number with your country`s prefix and leave out the 0 (if your mobile number begins with 0).

    For example, if you live in Germany and your mobile number is 01734444444 then the correct number to enter at google places for sms verification is:

    00491734444444
