How much time you do spend following up with non buyers?

Typically, I have two seperate lists for each site. Buyers and non buyers. Im interested to know how much time/effort I should spend with the non buyers. At present they receive emails every 3rd day over a period of 3 months.

Im curious to know what you guys do?

Does 3 months sound excessive, or not enough? Or should I be focusing more attention on my buyers?

    Hi there,

I dont do much ... I just que up emails in the autoresponder (nice emails!) I mean quality emails.

Do this for a month, then promote .. If they don't buy, dont stop.

    Try CPA or something!

    Thanks

3 months ? How about a year of follow up ...

I follow up until they buy or they unsubscribe

As long as you have constructive tips that helps your subscribers , it is ok to promote and get them to buy products that would sincerely help them

I'm of the "buy, die or unsubscribe" school of thought myself on this one.

Generally I will keep on with the free content, the gifts, the survey etc until whenever it takes.

Case in point, I had had a list in a micro micro niche and it took the guts of 5 months to see sales, that was at about the same mail frequency as yourself on the 3 day front.

I reckon if subscribers are on my list, and they open, like what I send them etc, then its only a matter of time. Keep on keeping on

My cutoff is 120 days. All non-buyers are culled from lists, so they don't waste my time. I'm of the school of thought of keeping things simple: "Some will, some won't, so what, next ..."

    Alright man.

    This is what I do...

We have a large list and we send weekly emails to about info, promotions, and others such things.

The rules we use and will continue to use is to prospect to them until they buy or die. Or ...unsubcribe.

The people that stay on your list and not buy are still interested in what you have t say, just not ready to buy. By keeping them in contact with what you are doing for your business, they more you will stay on top of there mind so when they are ready to buy, you are there first pick.

We have had people on our list for 6 months and then drop $3000 dollars on us. Thats what its all about . Its follow-up. Thats it. Keep educating them and showing that you are a expert and they will be profitable.

If you leave them hanging they will forget about you and never be a customer. They people that drop them off the list and losing money period. I have done this before and I know what it's like.

I do recommend that you segment the list to send different offers to them. I usually send lower ticketed offers to my non-buyers and I educate them and create a relationship with them.

But the biggest rule is send an email to everyone at least 1 time a week with good info, make sure you have a good reason to contact them and a good offer.

If you are always sending offers to them they may be getting a bad taste in there mouths about you or what ever and not buying. Just a thought. But I don't know your business.

You have to nurture your list as if they are becoming your biggest fans and friends. The more you give or treat them well they more they will buy from you.

I do all this and Imake a killing on email list. I didn't have a website for years and made a lot of money just off list.

Now I have a website and its killing it. Its just starting out so I have some work to do but I still rely on my list to make my full time income.

    Hope this helps

When you say "follow up" are you referring to once off broadcasts or scheduled follow ups.

If it's scheduled follow ups, do you sit down and map everything out in advance for say, 12 months at a time???

    Hmmm....

There's some interesting thoughts and suggestions here.

I guess my issue is time. Sitting here pumping out content to freebie seekers to me, doesn't quite seem right.

I'm still making offers, but want to ensure that Im not wasting my time.

Thats a fair point on time.

I got a bunch of content for the particular list I mentioned above (organic pest control) done at the start and factored it in cost wise for a longer haul, I had an inkling from experience on that list, but no point in spending if there is no long term viable return.

Half of one, six dozen of the other, you know yourself

Let me start by saying first: It's all about testing!

Really, in order to get BUYERS, you have to work with the NON BUYERS. I email everyday to some of my lists/niches, 5 times a week. I send out content and always always have whatever I'm promoting at the bottom, top, or both, of the email.

I'm about to start emailing some of my lists/niches 2 times a day, 5 times a week for non buyers.

So my suggestion is to send out more emails to your non buyers so that you can turn as much of them into buyers...
