Google is Blocking Clickbank

12 replies
I made several url shortners this am at

goog.gl

When I try to navigate I get
Note that goo.gl short URLs may be disabled for spam, security or legal reasons.

Urls are simply shortened clickbank affiliate url so either its a block on clickbank or its something else

ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THE SAME

    You really might want to remove those affiliate links before this thread gets toasted.

    Why on earth would you want to entrust you links to such a spammy website anyway? No wonder Google sees them as untrustworthy. In my opinion, they look like a 'here today, gone tomorrow' website. I wouldn't touch them with the proverbial bargepole.

    Yes, of course. Why dont you try bit.ly and walv.in ? They are easy for you to keep track of your links.

      Good advice. I've used bit.ly before. Also tinyurl.

      But CloseoutDirect, why not just use the direct link to your site/blog and get some link love? (backlinks).

    It's not an accurate headline. People are going to think you are talking about Google search not showing up clickbank products.

    You are talking about google's url shortener blocking affiliate links, and they could block any affiliate link, maybe, not just clickbank's.

    There are 100s if not 1000s of url shorteners out there, just use a different one.

    Problem solved.

    sometimes, the cause may be a technical fault. Check URL's again.

    why trust your links to any third party? how much time will you invest into distributing short links that can be nuked at any moment if they feel like it or on accident?

    if you must... why not register your own short link domain and install a script or just create simple short url redirects?

    I have said this in the past but one of the biggest ways to loose commissions is to cloak using the wrong url shortening service. Some even snoop landing page and bypass affiliate link alltogether after being shortened.

    Too many people trust their links to the wrong services.

    Why don't you just redirect using your own server. using this code
    <?php
    header( 'Location: http://www.yoursite.com/new_page.html' ) ;
    ?> Change the url obviously to your redirect page this cloaks the link and sends them to it
    cheers

    Edit: I guess I better give you the instructions
    make a folder call it whatever you want. put the code above in a blank text file and save it as index.php
    send people to your url for instance. yoursite.com/folder name you made. voila

    It simply highlights Google's opinion of affiliate marketing and those who use Clickbank. It considers them spammy links.

    It happened to me yesterday when I was updating a really old blogger BUM marketing link so I just went and used TinyURL (... one I'm not too bother about).

    I used to use Budurl's free service but it looks like they're all paid for now... so all my old Budurl links are now dead... a good reason not to use a URL shortening service.
