Best free video software?

OK, so I want to create videos to upload to YouTube and other video sites for video marketing. I want to be able to add clickable links (if possible) and edit the video to add title pages, music, my URL as an overlay thru the entire video, etc. Also want it to be able to create the video in a compact format for uploading (mp4?).

My old laptop had Camstudio which wasn't bad. I've heard a few good things about Jing Pro but a lot more bad things.

For us video marketers, what is the best FREE option out there?

Best free is probably windows live movie maker.

Youtube removes clickable links in the video - unless the link goes to another youtube video. If you want a link in a video to an external site, you have to pay youtube to be able to do that.

Links to external sites in youtube video are called "call to action overlay" and more inforamtion about it can be found at this link at google webamster help - http://www.google.com/support/youtub...?answer=150471

Do the other video sites also remove clickable links? At least it would be in the description (clickable with http://) and as an overlay in the video.

    Doubt everything you believe.

I dont know if other video hosting sites (metacafe, break, damilymotion,,,,) remove links in the video.

Some sites, such as Break.com, do not even allow an live links in the video description.

If you want to do a lot of video marketing, I suggest you check out TubeMogul | Video Advertising Built for Branding You can upload the video 1 time to tubemogul and then push it out to other sites.

I'm familiar with TubeMogul, but have never signed up for it. Looks like the free version is only non-commercial and discourages affiliate marketing. Still, $50/year isn't too bad for the Business account.

You can get overlay links on youtube vids that go external.. you need to set up a promoted video ad campaign via youtube ads / your google account. You can add a clickable overlay in YT. The start the campaign, then stop it and the overlay remains working.

Jing is free and it's made by the authors of Camtasia Studio.

I heard that Jing is a little light on the editing part. Dunno...

I have camstudio, it comes with a recorder, it is a good option otherwise Hypercam2 is a good option IF and I say if, if you can get the right settings for it and that way it will mean you get the best quality out of it and its a pretty versatile recorder, in the way of publishing if you don't want to add fancy things then Windows movie maker is free and a decent tool.

You may want to check out screencast-o-matic: Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing.

The Pro version is only $12/year... it's VERY easy to use.

Here are the different options they have for editing video: Edit Tools (v1.1) | Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing.

Everything is online, there's nothing to download...
