How much authority do you give your assistants/VA's?

I am making some major moves this year and working towards automating my income as much as possible. I want to get to a 4 hour work week.

In the 4HWW (4 Hour Workweek), he gives his assistants a certain dollar limit - if they can solve the problem for less than $XXX, then do it and don't bother him about it.

Do you have that kind of arrangement with your VA's? or do you want to be consulted, no matter what?

If you are dedicated to trying to cut your work schedule down you are going to have to losen your grip and give some control to others. Start with simple projects so you can check perfomance and find out who can really take the ball and run with it.

What i do is actually ask what he want to do within 2-3 days, give some input. Let him do his job and get back again asking results and giving feed back. I'm trying to drill down the job into smallest piece. Asking how, what when, and such. Basically i ask everything. Then focusing myself on control and evaluation. Plan, do, evaluate, repeat.
